I'm new to the forum as a member, but have been a reader for sometime.
I am a new home based firearms dealer and have passed the ATF and insurance gauntlet of paperwork and the interview and now am waiting for my license in the mail. I have an LLC created for my business and want to keep the business stuff separate from my personal side for obvious reasons. I figured a small business checking account from my bank would be a smart move. I had to provide my articles of organization with the state and my state tax ID along with the business type and what I would be selling. Just found out that they won't give me an account because of the type of business. No further explanation in the voicemail they left me. I will be requesting a written explanation of why not on Monday when they are open. I am a platinum customer of this bank in good standing and have everything with them including a home loan.
I'll be checking with other banks as well to see if they have similar responses.
Has anyone ever heard of something crazy like this with a large national bank?
Any input or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!
