... any idea what he used fer his "chop-to" length?... didn't otherwise see any trimming in the video... if it's a nice clean cut, that'd save an otherwise lengthy step!

If you had a decent stop, you could get pretty close and just need to square them up with a trimmer.

I've got an idea cooked up for my lathe that has an end mill in the chuck and a guide plate mounted to the compound. If it works, I can scale it down to just a motor on a base.

I wouldn't sell the 56 cases I made in the first run. The necks were all galled from the pilot bushing on my trimmer. This next run will be remmington .223 brass instead of winchester 5.56.

Anyone know where I can get my hands on ANY reloading components for the 300 Blackout? Just took delivery of an upper I ordered before the madness and now I can't find a bullet to shoot out of it. Let me know if you have a secret supply chain of ammo or any components (including dies) that I can buy. Slim pickings at the usual places.

All the components are also hard to find. Found H110 powder at Ammocraft as well as some expensive 30 cal 150 grain bullets ($23 for 50). Not likely to find primers anywhere. Midsouth shooters supply had some 130 grain that I didn't buy and still had primers when I checked last week.

Found the brass likes being cut down a bit first before resizing. I know some found they got more consistent neck diameters necking down full .223 then cutting, but I'm getting better wall thickness cutting off the below the shoulder and then pushing it through the 300 die with the sizing ball at the same time.

That's how I've been converting my LC brass. Works pretty well.

What are you seeing for neck variation? I just wrapped up 700pcs of mixed LC headstamps. I am cutting back the necks after sizing, and getting .010-.012.

I was ending up with an ID of .300-.302 when I necked down and then cut. I don't remember what my wall thickness was, as that was pretty consistent. They were just too tight on the pilot for my trimmer and caused problems bulging.

I form now with the ID ball in place, so they come out with .305 ID's and stretch a little (.005-7) in the process.

Now I cut, size, trim, then deburr. I don't worry about the burr on the case before it goes into the die unless it's a heavy one on the OD.

I was also looking at the little 2" saw blades in Horrible Freight today thinking that on a small motor would probably work slick. Then again - I'm supposed to have 1k nickel cases coming in the next week that are already formed. So I don't need to keep working on the process.

lengths you are coming up with? Chop saw and jig working great. Appears 1.38 cut off, 1.394 after sizing and trim to 1.37 working out. Have not loaded any yet since I can't shoot them yet but working on more brass. Super quick on the cutting just like the youtube I showed earlier except my jig kicks the cutoffs out the back rather than drop them down a hole in the jig.

1.368 is Max length for the blackout Larry. Tolerance is +0/-.02. I aim for 1.357, because the neck will grow .002 the first time you shoot it. According to AAC, you can't cut them too short as long as they'll hold a bullet.

Looking at your loaded rounds, the shoulder appears mushed. Are you seating them with the crimp engaged?

The top one is my re-forming with my redding die. The bottom three are how they came from a bulk processor. Notice the wave in the neck - not good for neck tension.

But 1.37 would be consistent with a 300/221 chamber as they are chambered to 1.40 IIRC
