Held an AR 15 today and put it back when I saw the price tag

Postby brauchma on Sat Jan 05, 2013 8:29 pm

Runnings in Willmar had a DPMS(I think) in the cabinet today. Ugly as well... Had skulls on the lower and a weird milled barrel on it. He was proud to have one. I looked at it and flipped the tag over and saw $2499 on it. Mind = blown. I handed back to him and started to walk away. He said I better make a decision because a guy at the end of the gun counter was looking at it. Pff... Annoyed. I really want one but not that bad. Had a ton of AK47 clips for $24 though.

I didn't know they made "clips" for an AK, sure they weren't for a SKS? Even then that's a 700% markup from other places you can get em.

That must have been one of those DPMS's that were match grade and better than a colt or a LWRC, you should have jumped on it.

What a joke.....Colts aren't that much with a match target setup. I know a guy that just got a Colt Match Target his week for $1599 brand new, which is high, and i think the guy got screwed cause it only come with one small magazine ....but at least it ain't too ridiculous and he's still got a Colt if nothing else counts !
If you must snap, please leave your guns at home. We don't really care if they ban claw hammers tho!!!

I gotta hand it to the guy...it would take balls (or greed, or ignorance) to put a $2500 price tag on a DPMS.

New, current production AR with skulls on the reciever and unique milled fluting..... My money says it was a Black Rain Ordinance.

Yeah the rifle described by the OP sounds like a black rain ordinance. Sounds exactly like the ones Bill's south had last week. Ugly as sin IMHO. Price at Bills was around $2500 as well.

My brother bought a RRA from the exact store 2 weeks ago,for a fair price, and was complaining about the same butt ugly Black Rain rifle on the shelf. Sorry if somebody else has/wants this gun... not trying to be a smart @$$... just not my cup of tea.

Before the craze Element had this one for $2k. The finish looked less than durable.

That was a Black Rain. MSRP on those bling blings is 2400 I believe. For 2400 I'd take a Larue tOBR over that pos anyday. Now if they'd only start making them...
