They have a Cop at cub once in a blue moon on weekends, and what does it do other than deter the amatuer shoplifter as the cop cant bust anyone for shoplifting <lol> there are a lot of legal requirements for that. Plus the banks normally pay for the cop to protect them

And S/A gives free stuff to the cops to get them in there to show a presence to deter robbery and drive offs. But they are only there when they get their breaks.

I guess we have different perceptions of reality. I go to that Cub, maybe once every 4 to 6 weeks after work, which puts it around 1am. Nearly always there is a Maplewood cop working. As far as the SA's, you don't have a clue. Maryland Ave, Johnson Parkway. Old Hudson Road and others have them Working all night. These folks are all wearing SPPD uniforms, and I have seen them do odd jobs like open the beer cooler or get ice, so they aren't just there for the free donuts and coffee. Quit trying to BS everyone. And, for a guy who keeps telling us how we wouldn't beleive all the $h1t that goes on around town that doesn't make the news, then constantly refers to the lack of reports, news and otherwise on this incident, shows how full of it you are.

Of course you are hanging in the hood I make sure i get all my essentials before night falls so i can use the cover of darkness, to not be seen so i dont go in well lit places after dark

And look where the cops are. Maryland, johnson parkway and old hudson and whitebear. I know what parts of town not to go in after dark where i could be seen I thought you were talking about the one in maplewood as you were talking about maplewood, and i know that they get free food as a couple of the troopers i know who cover the east metro have told me thats why maplewood is there all the time But as for the hood i wont go in them places at night hell i worked security at Scumray many times and did facilities maint there so i know what it is like. And over there on Maryland they have little Asia ( The old Rosevelt projects ) and Johnson parkway is hoodsville. I got me a fancy 800 mhz radio and listen to all the calls for the east side

B96 are who is telling everyone to visit Valley Fair this year, i guess they must be the radio station of choice for valley fair this year as they Hired the station that caters to African Americans to target in thier advertising campaign. They are bringing them the money as far as admission goes aswell.

And as with any study taken where people are polled they always inquire into race to help sort the demograhics, and such for marketing. I am sure it is something they left off thier website etc as not to make it sound well you know. My wife has been doing market research and everything that goes along with it for Advertising purposes for a very long time so i get to hear all about how they get all the marketing figures.

And i really like how they got to the conclusion of thier demoghraphis etc, as i am sure a lot of thier users dont have computers

Then in that email they offer something to entice a response to the survey. they then take the survey and arange all the age info and other stuff including ethnic background. They then take that data and use it to say that the opinions of the people who responded are the opions of the entire amount of listners who tune in every day. So if 300 people reponded and 60 % were black and between 20-35 they would say that the majority of the listners were black and between 20 -35 etc etc. The wiki page they have is what they want you to see as they just used the claim of demographics as to boost their advertising. Now unless it was conducted by a market research company in good standing in the industry, it is not worth the effort reading it on the Wiki page

Umhh how is the fact that i observe something being racist???

Really please explain the fact that i go to the web page of B96 and the artists they profile are all black and when i drive through the projects i hear a lot of B96 and that when the brothers show up next door that is what they are listening to. It is a bit hard to miss also as they always have the music so loud with the beat pumping.

Its kinda like saying go to sit outside a champs foot store or foot locker when the new Nike Jordan shoe goes on sale, and try and spot the white man Lets face it a white man in that crowd is rare but is that a racist comment or a observation ??

May i ask when was the last time you drove through the Projects?? I go through them every day as it is the shortest route to work and home.

Work security at a regional mall on a special detail and you will be surprised by what you see, it is an interesting site to see.

And you go and work out there buy the Armory in st paul when they are giving out the Toys from the Toys for Tots program, you would be amazed by what you see. Its kinda like driving all the way down 32nd ave ( or lowry ave what ever you want to call it ) At 8 am there is no one around not a soul. No drive down the same road at 11am and see everyone coming out to hang on the corners. Now thats an observation but i could see where you could call it racist as its north Minneapolis

That's an interesting, but completely unrelated, observation I guess. We were talking about Valleyfair and where they choose to advertise. They choose to advertise on a station that is top rated among people from 18-34 years old... you know, the type of people who go to Valleyfair. I'm not exactly shocked that they would advertise there instead of, say, MPR.

If you were implying that only black people listen to B96 then a little bit of math and common sense can debunk that too.
1)Let's say that in all of the area that you can listen to B96 15% of the population is black. That's pretty high I'd say (Of the 8 cities I checked Minneapolis is ~16.5% and all the others were lower) but this point is so easy it doesn't really matter.
2) Let's also say that every single black person listens to B96.
3) Let's say that B96 is the most listened to station among 18-34 year olds as available market research suggests.

The question is do only black people listen to B96 as you seem to imply? I don't believe that can be the case as the other 85% of the population would have to be evenly split among at least six other radio stations for B96 to still come out on top. Sure, it's popular among blacks but it's also popular among others.

What there is a racist comment ?? There is nothing i have said there that racist, just simple observations. And a lot of my Black friends agree with me
All i stated was facts and thats simple, and the only time i mentioned race was commenting on the artists on B96's front page, and that the African Americans tend to listen to rap artists who 98% of the time are Black

It is like Asians like to listen to Asian music watch asian movies and when in a group talk their native language not english Its liek there is a couple of very popular radio channels in the metro that everything is in Mexican But they dont just cater to the mexicans

Its just the facts of life, that they target diffrent groups. It is like Obama was in Iraq last week and had his pics taken with the troops. 20 black soldiers and 2 token white men It is called observation, like saying on certtain days of the week Uptown is full of Jews. Of course it is there is a huge jewish church there.

North Minneapolis and Brooklyn center are predominately black neighborhoods, now that is a simple observation and the fact they are both really run down hoods is another one They are both simple facts and there is no way i could percieve they could be taken as racist.

Its like popping over to west st paul and saying there is a big Mexican population And you know it is tru thats why they have that big mexican festival there every year, and some Mexican Gang bangers shot at people this year
