definitely a personal preference thing. I for one don't like the Glock grip angle so I tend to go towards other guns with a more standard angle.

Ok. Choosing to withhold a completely relavant comment about a shooter's skill and the effect of grip angles.

it's not really a skill thing in this case, it's a personal preference. That's all I'm saying, and I would never claim to be gods gift to marksmanship. It's no knock on Glocks, I've owned several and have enjoyed them very much. In regards to the two pistols mentioned here, they're both nice pistols that should serve the OP very well.

In defense of the grip angle...that is why I prefer my XD and my 1911 over the Glocks I had. They have a more natural point of aim for me when drawing and firing the first shot. I always had to cock my wrist down a bit after pointing the Glocks.

I haven't found a G30 to fondle yet but I did handle a G27 at Gander the other night. Not sure I like having my pinky hanging out in space. I'd still like to shoot one though.

Check out the Glock 36, slimmer than the 30, and the same capacity as the XDs.

I picked up a XDM 3.8 today. I have had a Glock 30 and 36 and didnt really care for either one. The 36 would stovepipe. When I asked the sales guy about the stovepiping he asked what ammo I was using. I told him AE 230 FMJ. He said wierd, that usually happens with hollow points. Bye bye 36. So I got the 30. Brass went straight up in the air and hit the bill of my cap. Byebye 30. Ive shot the XDM before so I know I shouldnt have any problems. My question and it doesnt really say in the manual. Is +p ammo ok for this gun. I have Hornady Tap 230gr +p. I use it in my Bersa Firestorm sub compact. I have about 10 boxes of it. Not something I shoot alot, but if I am going to carry it, I want to know how it handles.

I had a chance to fondle the Glock 30sf on Sunday at Bill's in Hudson. Not a fan. The butt end just didn't feel right in the palm of my hand. Felt like I was holding a chunk of 2x4.

I hate to say it, but after perusing the selection I'm kinda leaning toward the Kahr .45. Kahr was never on my radar until now but I kinda liked it. Just wish it held more than 6 rounds.
