We will see how many show up in two weeks.

Hey, it was really good meeting folks out at the orientation! I was the big guy with a big beard.

One thing i haven't really figured out though is the per-match cost; can we get that clarified? Thanks!

Burnsville Practical Pistol Winter League - 2013

Postby JP5EDC on Fri Jan 11, 2013 2:24 pm

I was hoping to make the introduction class last night but my daughter wasn't feeling well from her 4 month vaccinations. :( Any way to get the required class room time so I could still join? Maybe I'll just have to wait till next year. Looks like lots of fun!

From the looks of it, the classroom time is not required. I was told to go to YouTube and have a look around, but I assume if you show up with an unloaded and cased firearm and can follow directions and don't try to get the fastest time of the night your first time out that you will be welcomed.

I am going to show up next time. I might have to watch the first time before I shoot, but hopefully I will be allowed to partake before next year :)

I'll let Skyrock give the final word since it's his match but you have the gist of it.

Often at matches a new shooter will be matched up with a Mentor (Rugersol does a GREAT job of this)
Sometimes they're squadded with a group of people to help.

Regardless, you always go slow, be safe, and TELL THE RO you're new.

I'm happy to help new people. I was new once and had some great mentors / squadding.
private or small grou permit classes available

Can't tell. Some folks didn't choose a Division or Power Factor on their score sheets. Hard to score those, so I sent an e-mail to them requesting that info.

Otherwise, I'll let you know soon.

Nope. If they don't specify a division, they go in "Undefined." If they don't specify a Power Factor, they get credit for a pellet gun PF (or "none"), which is zero for all target zones.

All but 2 responded to my request (thanks, guys). I'll send the results to the participants later today, regardless of how many are left.

Is there some literature that explains the different divisions somewhere?
