Before the ink is dry I'm sure. I just hope it gets to SCOTUS before NY gun owners are forced to narrow their gun collections down to 3. (yes, NY law now prohibits owning more than 3 guns)

Also, if you guys haven't already, sign the petition requesting the President replace his armed guards with a "gun free zone" Only needs a couple thousand more signatures by Jan 22nd to force the WH to respond. Get him on the record saying he wants guns protecting him.

Nope. They learned from their mistakes on the 94 ban.

#1 is prohibited because it has more than one icky EBR "feature". (pistol grip and barrel shroud)

Signatures needed by January 22, 2013 to reach goal of 25,000
1,964

Does not look like that is the case...but I would not count on them saying anything meaningful.

That does not apply to petitions that are already in play. Only new ones.

Anyone can declare a law unconstitutional. Only the courts can impose a penalty for ignoring such a declaration.

Rant on...
So did I hear that 1 year after the passing of this law in New York, it would be illegal to have a +7 round magazine in your possession?

If so, I think February 15th, 2014 would be the best day for the largest act of disapproval in modern times. Imagine millions of Americans walking through Times Square holding up their 15 round magazines singing god bless America! Ok, I know people could get arrested, but there is no way they could arrest that many people and it would over burden their legal system.

Or if that was too extreme and would not gather support, what about a cardboard cutout of one? I don't know. Maybe by then it would have been struck down...but I doubt it.

Rant off

Totally **** up.

I'm guessing the 1 year time limit is for Ruger and other manufacturers to produce new 7 round mags. If they banned mags over 7 rounds RIGHT NOW, it would make the guns that use them useless for all practical purposes and I'd guess there's some legal issues that prevent them from doing so.

Assuming they decide to. I personally hope they don't...it sets precedence that manufacturers will accomodate the new laws and I may end up with a 5 round mag in my glock in five years.

Manufacturers should not have to redesign and retool to accomodate a nonsense law.

Yeah, I know where you're coming from....my 19 round XDm 9mm would be severely neutered. But, manufacturers need to make money and keep their customers happy, so I'm sure they'll oblige. It's already maddening trying to find the correct mag from manufacturer's websites that carry mags of all different capacities to comply with the various state laws on the books.

We should be more concerned about what the MN legislature has in store for us here at home.
