Have you SEEN what they're about to pass in NY?!!

Postby xd ED on Wed Jan 16, 2013 8:09 pm

They'll no doubt fix it. The police, like all of the elite's body guards, have a legitimate need for stuff us commoners would only kill ourselves with.

It does exhibit the ignorance and lack of thought with which this legislation was developed. That is if anyone is paying attention.

That happened in MN with the carry permit law and the school exemptions. They quietly fixed it when the had to do the law over again.

Most people don't realize what little thought goes into writing the language of a bill. Or how uninformed most legislators/congressmen are about what they are voting on.

I read somewhere yesterday that you can keep a magazine up to ten rounds if you already have them. But you can't load more than 7 rounds in it.

Any previously grandfathered mags over 10 rounds have up to 1 year to say bye-bye. Can't find the source now.

Then NY state should buy them back at current market value

With my Flame Suit buttoned up, I am kind of pleased that NY & Chicago & California have gone off the deep end with 7 ROUND MAGAZINES and the rest. WHO CARES. They are screwed but what's happening in these states is very valuable as a bucket of cold water on the rest of the nation. And also it illustrates 'States Rights' the 10th Amendment.
If we don't fight back we'll be like NY & Chicago. From a strictly Minnesota perspective, it's a good thing that NY has gone off the deep end. Flame Suit On.

This is not a 10th amendment issue, and it shouldn't be allowed to be disguised as one, PERIOD! This is a 2nd amendment issue.

Tenth Amendment:
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people

The bill of rights lines out specific areas that the states and fed cant (shouldn't be able to) mess with. Anything else is up to the states; I.e., gay marriage, land use, contract law, etc.

I believe that the mis-application of the tenth amendment is the root cause of our current woes as a country. We are (or were meant to be) a union of states much like the EU, and not a homogeneous country. The constitution was designed to outline some basic inalienable rights that were self evident to the people at the time. These rights were not "granted" by the government, They were endowed to you by your creator. Everything outside of the very limited power the granted to the federal government is reserved to the power of the states.

Right, and I don't see how either has any authority to regulate arms whatsoever.
