Agreed. I've poured almost 10% of my earnings into 401k's/stocks the last 3 years. The return has been less than spectacular. However, right after the election I bought two new personal rifles (a Colt and DPMS, one thanks to our fantastic dealer/forum member "ThunderJohn") and slipped in a couple orders for more than 10 rifles that did show up in the past couple weeks. I didn't gouge anyone, but I did send many of them to auction....which is the true definition of "market price" .....my wife always asked why I kept buying guns, now she understands my answer "they're a good/safe investment" very, very well.

It's a straw purchase. Buying 10 guns just to flip for a profit is illegal.

are you sure? If you use an FFL how could it be? If not, it could be. only IF the buyer cannot legally own one... this is my understanding.

Ok so I'll just buy a few hundred guns from an ffl. Sell them in my front yard with no paper work since I bought. I'm sure the Feds won't mind.

thats a face to face, and yeah you can do that, but I wouldn't recommend that many. BUT if your face to face includes an FFL... well

but if you buy a gun "intended" for someone that cant legally buy it for himself, that is the "Strawman deal", and is a big time no no..

As a non ffl, I can buy and flip as new weapons as id like with out any paper work or storefront? I'm sure the ATF would love to know this.

This site gets worse by the day.

Maybe I read this wrong. As I see it, you are part of the problem Tommy. You are so terribly upset about people selling rifles for more than you can afford that you want to punnish everyone.

I could be wrong, but that's what I see from your posts.

I can afford the rifle want. It's just not worth that much to me when the market will come down. I don't buy high out of fear.

Are you an FFL? I am not. Like I said it is my understanding the strawman is if you buy a gun for someone that you know can not legally buy one themselves. That said, the form I fill out at the FFL states that the gun is for my personal use, and not for someone else. That said, if I buy a gun, and dont like it, Im going to sell it. im not talking "hundreds" as you said, and that is why I said not that many. and if you bring the buyer to an FFL and sell it to the buyer, and pay the FFL his fees, why would there be a problem with you making a few bucks?

Personally my FTF is only with peeps that have a PTC.

A straw purchase is when someone buys a firearm on behalf of another. Buying a firearm for yourself and selling it right away is perfectly fine.

I have no problem with people making $. Zero. make what you want. I do have problems with non ffls buying dozens of guns, never open them, just to flip them after another massacre. Funny the ATF agrees.
