Yup, he should put it on gunbroker....I've seen DPMS Sporticals sell for more than his asking price lately.

I'd put it on gunbroker, but I really hate shipping guns... in fact, the few times I've done it, I've gone thru a shop... almost more stressful!

Chances are you won't see any Wolf 22lr for a while. I check for it several times a week with no success. It's probably the most popular target ammo around, as it's extremely accurate for the price.

How many rounds for how much?

I have more than enough .22LR right now, just wondering about it now.

Exaggerated prices, exaggerated panic.

I don't remember what I last paid; I bought 5000 rds about a year ago, and for the past 3 weeks haven't found any. Google 'Wolf Match' and 'Wolf Match Extra'. It's not ever cheap compared to what you'll find @ FF or WW. But it's consistent and 1/2 the price of high/ top end stuff.

I found a box of 50 rounds for $8.00, so .16 a round of the 40gr stuff.
The Federal Bulk Pack of 525 rounds is $22.00, so 0.04 a round, but it's 36gr and not match grade.

So 4gr more and 4x as expensive, but they aren't really comparable ammo it seems because the Wolf seems to be meant for for match/competition shooting, if I'm reading that correctly, and the Federal more for plinking/target shooting. I think comparing the two might be like comparing apples to oranges, or 230gr ball FMJ .45ACP to JHP .230gr :)

(I've seen some varmint rounds for .22LR as well, which is also some different typo of ammo I believe.)

Right now I'm sitting on 25,000 rounds of .22LR, so paying 4x as much as I did isn't something I'd like to do just for target shooting; however if the Wolf is really that good, I'd use it for competition shooting for sure.

I'll get my hands on some of it one day I'm sure.

I bought a case of Match Target for $460 cash from Champion Shooter Supply out at Camp Perry last August. SK Standard Plus was $470/case at the same shop. Don't know about current pricing or availability.

Going rate before craziness was around $5/50 , 'bout $1 more per box for the Extra. I haven't shot a .22 that doesn't perform phenomenally with it.

If I could budget it, I'd be all over it. Unless you looking for random trades haha

I won't be selling anything soon I don't expect.
But, If you find a line on Wolf Match, or Match Extra 22lr for $500+ actual shipping/ case of 5000. I'll GIVE you the first brick..... offer stands for 90 days

Could not find the price I paid, but it was around $500 shipped for a case of Wolf Match, Match Extra was $75/ brick @ Midway...last March-April

As an aside, this place (local MN business) has had good deals on 22lr plinking/ hunting ammo: http://www.glensoutdoors.com
CCI Blazer 22 Long Rifle 40 Grain Lead Round Nose - 2 x 5000 Round Case for $333.19 at my door... last April... looks like he's cleaned out of most popular calibers right now.

No Wolf, Tula, el -cheapo Russian made low quality stuff there either. I'm sure some people shoot the stuff (Wolf/Tula) and it doesn't give them issues, it's cheap, they don't mind it, etc, and that's good for them, but not for me. Again, it's all personal preference.

Just an FYI, Wolf rimfire ammo has nothing in common with Wolf centerfire ammo, aside from the name. It is actually made in Germany by Lapua and is some of the best rimfire ammo you will find at anywhere near it's price point. Generally speaking, it will almost always be the best .22 ammo you can buy at any local stores. Until you start spending $10-$20 a box on the boutique Eley, Lapua etc, you will not match it's performance. Wolf and the equivalent SK are the preferred practice ammo of many competitive smallbore shooters all over the world.

Avoid it if you like, but you may as well at least know what it is.

Fair enough. I've never seen the .22LR caliber from Wolf and I'd be willing to try that. I was speaking more about the Wolf in the other calibers, such as in my .45ACP. I didn't know that about the .22LR from Wolf, so I'd give it a shot (literally and figuratively) IF it's that good, not dirty, and cheaper than the stuff I normally get. I take it WalMart has it?

By the way, whenever I hit the Shakopee WalMart if they're out of the Winchester, Remington, UMC .45ACP ammo, they usually have the Tula left. Apparently I'm not the only one out there who doesn't want it.

Actually, Wolf and most of the steel cased stuff isn't as dirty as you might think.

Worth it though. I've been shipping about 15 guns a week and it's become routine...just make sure it's insured with proof of delivery and a copy of your DL.
