JustplainT: exactly. We need to all stop being lazy and then wondering why we have no rights left. These people are very good at organizing their rank and file and making things happen, ESPECIALLY when its related to emotional situations such as Sandy Hook.

This isn't about whether we need 10, 20 or 75 round magazines. Its about stopping them from telling us what we need. What if they also add to that bill that all magazines need to be blue, and on Thursdays we need to only use red 4 shot mags, or left handed people can only shoot 3 round mags every other day if they hop on their right foot? Sound ridiculous? So would the contents of this bill, 1, 3, or 5 yrs ago! It has to stop.

Who cares if it does pass? I've never seen a clip that holds more than ten rounds. Most strippers hold 10, en blocs for a Garand hold 8, I've seen some 5 round clips too.

No, I mean clip. It's a synonym for magazine.

:deadhorse:

As for PlainWhiteT and EllisW and their comments, I agree with both. We need to fight these bills and terminology does matter.

Something no one else seems to have mentioned is (heaven forbid) some crazy stupid bill did pass, Bill's and ever other range out there which rents guns and/or stores which sell guns would need to get rid of any magazines that meet or the limit. What could they replace those magazines with exactly? Take for example my XDm which takes 10 or 13-round magazines and my Mark III 2245 which only takes 10-round magazines, my guns effectively become worthless and unusable if 10 rounds or more is banned. Do you think the firearm companies are going to like that? Since this bill makes them illegal, no grandfathering, etc, the magazines become illegal and the guns unusable and worthless to currently-lawful owners since you can't transfer or use them due to the law. At least in 1994 you could keep your current supply, but not so anymore if this POS bill goes through; which it won't IF we all fight it every single day like we should be.

So if those guns become worthless unless the manufacturer make mags that hold less rounds than the limit, for example 9 round magazines, what becomes of those guns? A giant buy back program. $200 on a gift card is better than nothing since you can't use it anyway, right? No. Not at all. However, there are people that will do that because they're that stupid, desperate, etc. It's a roundabout way to confiscate weapons without confiscating them. You make them illegal and people will turn them in (some anyway will) so the firearms can be destroyed.

It's just like the whole deal where some politicians want to make it so that ALL firearm transfers must go through an FFL, thus causing us to have gun registration without really saying that you need to register your gun. It's not "You must register your gun." It's "No, we don't have gun registration, but all sales must go through an FFL." It;s the same thing AND it's easier to control because there's a whole heck of a lot less people in the US with FFLs than not. Compare how many people in the US have an FFL against the number of people who don't.

We MUST fight these bills every day and in every legal way. We must be ever-vigilant and fight to keep our freedom so many died for to obtain from England and to keep from others who would take it from us.

As for the pink pony on here, dude, you love to troll, I get it, but please sell your guns and get the eff off our side. You are doing the gun community more harm than good. Web-bots, spiders, etc aggregate websites and pages, NO ONE needs a gun owner's anti-gun blatherings popping up in a search engine or some other database. In short, knock it the eff off. It's NOT funny.

XD: well put. and I do agree, there are many offshoot issues of the bill that aren't readily visible, but the more we think about it, the more these issues come to the surface. Why do they need more laws when this one is already in effect: Murder is illegal. Shooting people is illegal. How many variations of that law do they need on the books before they realize that its time we spend energy fixing our society so it doesn't keep occuring? More laws won't prevent laws from being broken. Good ethics does.

The AW ban I doubt will pass. New York showed us people are not happy being treated like criminals and Marky-Mark Dayton won't be able to handle a 15-point approval rating drop. The magazine ban I am slightly more nervous about.

This is even worse...

https://www.revisor.mn.gov/bin/bldbill. ... ssion=ls88

This says that anyone in POSSESSION of a [scary looking gun] will face felony charges if they do not surrender the weapon, register it, make it inoperable, or move it to another state.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever read. I can't believe this is happening in our home state..

Just curious, how many of you would actually stand up for what you believe in and face the government rather than turn in your gun if it meant you'd stay out of prison? Hypothetically speaking.

Not me, I have a wife and kids to support. I'd have to fight for my rights some other way, I'm no good to my family sitting in a jail cell making no money, and I'm good looking, so that's a double bonus to stay out of prison. :D

To each their own, but that's sad in my opinion.

Yeah well, takes all kinds I guess... that scenario is just something that isn't worth my family suffering over, not in the least.

To be honest, I would probably find a place to store mine and do everything I could to get people in office that would overturn all the bullcrap.

A magazine capacity ban can't possibly pass in a state that gave it's electoral votes to Obama, voted in a Democrat majority in both legislative chambers and has a Democrat governor? That's reassuring. This isn't exactly the same state that it was when CCW passed.
