I always write up a bill of sale listing the date, manufacturer, model, caliber, serial number, sellers name, sellers number, sellers MN drivers license, sellers PTP/C, and the buyers info. I keep these on file to show that I sold X gun and it was no longer in my possession.
Always a good idea and an example of how responsible gun owners are not the issue.
