hmac has openly said he doesn't agree with it or like it, as has The Lance, those are two I can think of right off the bat. I'm sure there's others too, but whatever...this also drives home my point of division with the gun community, the lack of unity, and it seems there will always be this great divide. Pretty sad.

I think most people said they don't want you OC'ing because you represent yourself poorly on this forum and we assume you do the same (petty straw man arguments and choosing not to respond to challenges to your previous statements) when you are talking with the general public. In all, I think you are poorly informed but that doesn't stop you from being a know-it-all about things you know very little: how ranges should be run or what gun to use for SD or when to OC, to name just a few. You also have some serious fudd thinking that creeps in every once in a while even though you try to contain it.

Oh well. Your opinion. I think some people are a-hats on here and shouldn't own guns at all, but oh well. That's my opinion.

Yes. I think open carry is counterproductive to the cause and don't think people should do it. Carrying a gun is about personal protection. When it crosses over to being a political statement, or some misguided attempt at public education, then I think we've lost our way. That's my opinion. I readily acknowledge that others may feel differently about it, and I certainly acknowledge their right to feel that way.

I also said, however, that I was opposed to making open carry illegal. It is a right, and shouldn't be legislated away.

Interesting that you would call someone out for not naming names just a page ago and then do the same thing.

It is also interesting that more of your fudd thinking about guns is coming out. People you think are a-hats shouldn't own guns, huh?

And finally, the namecalling is just trollish behavior.

Ah, thank you for clarifying.

Yes, I do agree that making OC illegal would be a bad idea.
Yes, I do agree that OCing for a political statement or misguided public education attempt is a bad idea.

My question is do you think that making OC illegal is a bad idea because it may affect your rights to carry or own a gun at all? If OC was made illegal and it didn't affect you at all in any way, shape and/or form whatsoever, would you support banning OC?

It's not a "clarification", it was an actual statement, which I requoted for you above. Let my clarify again, hoping you won't misrepresent my position again...I am very opposed to making open carry illegal.

No FUDD thinking at all actually, but to each our own opinion.

As for name calling, we'll, I was called things on here before I called anyone a name, so everyone should follow the golden rule and it shouldn't happen either way, but when you've had enough, you respond in kind. I'm not Christian so I don't always turn the other cheek.

Yeah, I think some people are a-hats and shouldn't own guns. Do you really think everyone should? Yes, I think everyone should have the right to own a gun, of course, but just because someone has the right to doesn't mean they should do it.

It's an opinion. Some people on here probably think I'm an a-hat and shouldn't own a gun, OC, whatever. Ah well. That's life. That's their opinion. I'm not going to berate them for it. I may disagree or agree with it and voice my own opinion, but one opinion does not negate or invalidate the other.

I think some people shouldn't drive, drink, breed, a lot of things, but they still do. Just because I think it doesn't mean I'm going to stop them from doing it. This whole "having an opinion which varies from yours" is really new concept to some people isn't it? What I've found is that if someone is intolerant of another's opinion and their right to it, it basically boils down to "Eff it. You're not ME." because no two people hold the exact same opinion in the exact same way about the exact same thing. Impossible.

I must be missing something here because I never once stated anywhere that I was against it..

You can do whatever you want.. I choose not to do not because I already am a minority, people look at my fiance and myself weird when we're walking around shopping.

Last thing I want or need is to draw more negative attention towards my direction. When they all think I'm making a statement and think I'm over compensating for something else while embarrassing the people I'm with.

I don't even know why we're even having this discussion because you clearly and very uneducated and single minded. It's been proven many times in you're past post.

Just do some quick reading next time and at least try to learn something before you made idiotic statements about how gun ranges should be run, or carrying logic.

What would I read? Someone else's opinion.

Would it affect mine? Maybe. Maybe not. Either way in the end, it's still my opinion, so what would change? Well, what wouldn't change is the fact i'd have an opinion, what may change is that opinion. I've done quite a bit of reading for various sources on various subjects, and there's always logic behind my reasoning and opinions, even if people don't agree with them. I'm ok with that.

As for how to run a range....well, what business is it of yours how I would run one or not? If I'm footing the bill, what do you care? I foot the bills for my house, I want things I certain way, it's the golden rule of "he who has the gold makes the rules". If I'm paying for it, I have the final say. Same thing with how I carry. My say.

Your defense is "he started it"?
To the two forum members who have used lines from my posts as their signatures, can't you quote Jesse Ventura or some other great Minnesotan instead of stealing mine? - LePetomane

No FUDD thinking at all actually, but to each our own opinion.

So you contradict my assertion without providing any evidence. The hallmark of a troll. Calling AR-15 owners who want to use their rifle for SD "Rambo" isn't FUDD thinking?

As for name calling, we'll, I was called things on here before I called anyone a name, so everyone should follow the golden rule and it shouldn't happen either way, but when you've had enough, you respond in kind. I'm not Christian so I don't always turn the other cheek.

Like Heffay said, my 4-year old often resorts to the "He started it!" defense.

Yeah, I think some people are a-hats and shouldn't own guns. Do you really think everyone should? Yes, I think everyone should have the right to own a gun, of course, but just because someone has the right to doesn't mean they should do it.

I think it is a choice available to all non-criminal non-committed adults and I support their decision to own or not own.

You seem to do that a lot on this board - you trade in opinions and retreat to the position that opinions can never be wrong. I completely disagree. We may never find Truth, but opinion contradicted by evidence needs to be changed, and you never seem to do that. Your feedback loop for evolving your thought and improving your point of view seems to be broken.

I think some people shouldn't drive, drink, breed, a lot of things, but they still do. Just because I think it doesn't mean I'm going to stop them from doing it. This whole "having an opinion which varies from yours" is really new concept to some people isn't it? Prior to this thread, I thought xdm was probably a smart guy. Just inexperienced.

But now I see we've recessed back to the 3rd grade.

All you're saying there is that is how you would have ran a hypothetical non-existent gun range. You have zero credibility until such place exist.

In my gun range only super model's are allowed to come and shoot. They also have to be topless while they do it..

If one is not a supermodel, is there any possible way one could get perhaps a trial membership? Even if it is just hypothetical, I would like to apply for a hypothetical membership please.
