Rep Tony Cornish response

Postby goda0301 on Fri Feb 01, 2013 9:44 pm

Dear Friend,

I am a life member of the NRA and sponsor or co-sponsor of every major gun rights bill in the last 10 years.

I don't plan on giving an inch in the upcoming battle to take away our constitutional rights. I believe this is a huge smoke screen coming up where the anti-gun people will throw everything but the kitchen sink at us in the way of gun control bills and then try to give a fake compromise solution to then go after the alleged "gun show" loophole, which really takes away our right to sell or trade guns privately to friends or family members without background checks and registration…

We need to fight against this and you can bet I will. Stay strong and come to the hearings, Feb 5th, 6th, and 7th at 10 am in the State Office Building in St. Paul.

Thanks for your support,

Rep. Tony Cornish

I wish I had a state rep like that, here is the response I got from mine.

Thank you for your e-mail.

Each day I hear from many people who write, e-mail, fax and call my office to let me know how they feel about issues facing our state today. My policy is to give residents of my district the highest priority. If you are a resident of my district, I encourage you to please send your message again and include your postal address and phone number in your email.

If your message is urgent, please call my office at 651-296-3533 or my assistant, Kaying Thao, 651-296-4279.

Thank you for contacting me. Hearing from citizens helps me better represent you.

Sincerely,

Rep. Sandra Masin
District 51A
Proudly serving Eagan and Burnsville

Watching the "House Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee" live I am starting to gain a lot of respect for a number of our representatives. In the background of these speakers I can also see all red GOCRA shirts and yellow pins. From the first testimony's response by Tony Cornish I could tell he was on "our" side. It gives me hope if nothing else.

He's my Rep! :D Glad to have him. He's a stand up Guy. On that back of his truck is a bumper sticker that says "How's my legislating?" and his phone number! He also has billboards around the Mankato area with a picture of him and his cell phone number to contact him with issues!

Hopefully Tony talks to his follow elected officials as well?
