I find it a bit curious that no photos have been broadcast.

I've found nothing from a factual source to contradict this either.

Is this just more misinformation or has there been something official released?

Normally, that would take the wind out of their sails, however the weapon used to ambush the firemen in Webster, NY was a Bushmaster.

You aren't going to see official photos of actual evidence for a long time. CBS and CNN reported that the rilfe was a Bushmaster and the handguns Sig and Glock. I don't recall where I heard the shotgun left in the car was a Saiga. I haven't seen anything come out saying CBS/CNN are not correct though.

The majority of information I've seen has come from the media, very few actual reports from any authority. The medical examiner is the rare exception.
One early report had a Sig 5.56 rifle suspected as the weapon used.

I read today in the star tribune that the rifle used at sandy hook was a bushmaster with military ammo (.223) which is also wrong cuz it would be 5.56 but not the point. Then they continued to tie it to the recent fire fighter shooting in new york saying that guy used the same exact rifle.

Which would be very difficult unless he had access to the evidence locker in Newtown. :o

Personally I think that the media is calling any AR style rifle a Bushmaster.

I'm still seeing posts questioning what was found. To finally lay this to rest.

http://www.ct.gov/despp/cwp/view.asp?Q=517284&A=4226

Seized inside the school:

#1. Bushmaster .223 caliber-- model XM15-E2S rifle with high capacity 30 round magazine

#2. Glock 10 mm handgun

#3. Sig-Sauer P226 9mm handgun

Seized from suspect’s car in parking lot:

#4. Izhmash Canta-12 12 gauge Shotgun (seized from car in parking lot)

This case remains under investigation.

Ah.... not an ordinary 30 round magazine, but an high capacity 30 round magazine.
Men may argue forever on what wins their wars, and welter in cons and pros, and seek for the answer at history's doors, but the man with the rifle knows.
