Evidently Xrick Nolan boilerplated his response to all who contacted him regarding his "Gun Control" position. I know I received exactly the same response from him. I suppose that with his little mind it is easier for him to keep his position exactly the same so that he doesn't have to try to remember what he said to a particular person since he is telling everybody the same BS ( no that does not stand for a Bachlor of Science degree! ). I did not vote for him last November and matter of fact I would not vote for him if he was the only candidate running for an office. I would write in my own name before I would vote for him, and being a politician is the last thing I would want to be!

Sadly the NRA provided support for his opponet too late and with too little real support. What we need here in Minnesota is for all Pro Gun organizations to pull out all the stops and put our legislators feet to the fire letting them know that supporting any form of infringment on the 2nd Amendment Rights will spell defeat for them in the next election. Make sure that they understand they will NOT be given a second chance!

Fantastic little cartoon. It really highlights how much we've lost as a country and how far our morality has fallen.

And screw you, Mr. Nolan.

Problem is......his opponent was no good (in so many and profound and basic ways). Hopeless.

The NRA wasted money on him. You can't support just any politician.

They need to work toward being a little more knowledgeable and not just throwing money around where it won't do any good.

"I know that responsible gun-ownership is an integral part of our heritage in Minnesota – I am a lifelong sportsman and gun owner, and have hunted in northern and central Minnesota my entire life."

Typical way in which these guys pander to hunters. This line is replacing the one where these hacks identify themselves as a social liberal and a fiscal conservative.

What is really sad is our elected officials think the second amendment is about hunting. The people who swear an oath to protect the constitution don't even know what it is all about. If they spent less time worrying about the rights of criminals and spent more time worrying about the rights of the law abiding citizen, the so called gun issues of late would correct themselves. 8 of the 9 last mass shooters had mental health issues and if they were confined to a mental institution where they belonged, they would not have had the opportunity to illegally posses firearms to carry out their vile acts. It is mental health that needs to be addressed, not guns.

More seriously though Nolans seat previously held by Jim Oberstar (D). Did have some pro 2 A votes. Before Chip had it.

Yeah......I must have missed where the Constitution says, "right to keep and bear hunting rifles."

Here I thought it said, "right to keep and bear arms."

Darn.....was I dumb or what?

I don't care for Mr Nolan's perspective or answers at all. He strikes me as a pompous arrogant liberal (that tolerates those of us that aren't liberals simply because he has to.)

I would be interested in seeing an honest photo of him the very last time he was in the woods deer hunting. I bet that would be hard to produce, he strikes me as more of a momma's boy than an outdoorsman. He married into a card carrying liberal family that would probably disown him if he shot a deer, and from that same family, his sister in law is a Mpls judge.

Just read this on the Star Tribune website...

Nolan said that when he begins fundraising for 2014, he'll stick to weekends and evenings. He will not, he said, devote four hours a day during his work week.

"If it means I'm a one-term congressman, so be it," he said

Let's hope so...this guy is three days older than dinosaur turds and was a strong backer of Ted Kennedy's run at the presidency (how's that for "moral fiber"). He's of the liberal type that have brainwashed our iron workers on the range into believing that the DFL is the only way to vote...how's that working out?

Not in Minnesota.

Go ahead, try and get a properly registered machine gun as a private citizen inside the state of MN.

Depends on your definition of "heavily regulated". It's just a $200 NFA transfer stamp and 6 month waiting period. The bigger problem is that you can only get one that was made pre-1986, and we're talking big bucks IF you can find one.

Of course, as mentioned above, possession of machine guns IS criminalized in Minnesota except for Class III dealers.

All of which means you can indeed legally own a machine gun in the state of MN.

You just need to get a Class III license.

Which means machine guns or fully automatic weapons are not "criminalized."
