Postby Bare55 on Wed Feb 06, 2013 8:10 am

I have been researching coyote hunting in MN and have found no solid intel for areas that isnt five plus years old. Anyone have any proven success hunting dogs in MN? If you are willing to share your knowledge let me know. Also, if any farmers are willing to let me hunt coyotes on their land, Im all ears. Thanks.

Get out and start knocking on doors. Many guys are willing to let you hunt if you just ask.

Good luck finding spots online.

Not sure where you are located, but i would reccomedn finding lands adjacent to river bottoms. Lots of undeveloped land along them, and they are great travel corridors.

Thanks for the tips. I will just have to be more adventurous in asking for permission.

Might help if you give a general area in the state that you would prefer to hunt. I hear coyotes all the time, have several pictures of them in my yard, but with working 7 days a week I just don't have the time to go after them.

Yes, river bottoms and drainage ditches. Been watching a couple of them lately, and the drainage ditches always seem to have fresh tracks in them. But the dogs are moving later in the day, or overnight.

I have a gut pile out in one of our fields from butchering a couple of steers a few weeks ago. First day they were put out there, there were tracks coming in and going out from 4 different directions. The pile isn't all ate up, so i'm going to move that here the end of this week so it's out by a very good spot for the full moon where i had some good luck in december.
