S&W SD9/40 VE vs. Glock 19/23

Postby Lewy on Thu Feb 14, 2013 8:01 pm

Just a quick note, if anyone is considering the S&W SD line as an alternative to a Glock 19 or 23, they are not the same gun. The SD VE series is a great gun for $300 don't get me wrong, but to compare it to the Glock, it's not really in the same class as far as fit and general aesthetics go. I can see and feel a $200 difference without shooting. Just thought I would pass some info along as I often hear when roaming around on the interweb how they match up almost even.

I owned a Glock 19 Gen3, and a Sigma 9mm at the same time... They were close, but also different...

Love or hate Glocks you have to admit they are an amazingly simple and accurate design.

Somewhere in the back of a safe, I have one of the first Sigma series guns that came out back in the early 90's, SW40F. Looks almost identical to yours except it has the melonite finished slide.
