I may be going 2/22 if they add times... I'd be driving from either Prior Lake or Edina depending on time.

Thursday, Noon-2:30 is appearing to be the more important one based on our opponents' focus.

MN Senate Gun Control Hearings 2/21 - 2/22

Postby plblark on Thu Feb 14, 2013 10:59 pm

It was good to see a lot of familiar faces at the Capitol last time. The best thing you can do is spread the word. Short of getting there yourself, getting 2 other acquaintances to go is an excellent strategy.

Tell them how important their presence is.
Let them know how empowering it is to be among like minded people.
Explain what it feels like to BE THERE when the reps don't bother to present their own bills.
Try to convey the power of all our people showing up and the message it sends.

Every little bit counts.

If I were just slightly more self centered I'd think the anti gunners scheduled these just to screw with my dominance at the BPR winter league ;-). I'd love to shoot Thursday but I figure its a case of " Nice sport you have there ... Be a real shame if anything were to happen to it!" And that's not even figuring in self defense or civil rights!

Does that imply they know something we don't?

It doesn't appear that the official agenda hasn't been announced yet, is that right?

Yes, we believe the committee leadership has been coordinating with Protect MN and other anti-gun groups.

If anyone needs a ride I'll be going on Thursday 2/21 for the afternoon. I'll be leaving from in Edina.

I do need to get back to Prior Lake by 5:30/6. I can drive 2-3 people in a small car.

Of course they'll give their own side an edge like this. Typical, typical, typical.

We just have to fight back with overwhelming force.

By 'early', what's a reasonable time to get a good seat?
Is this in the Capitol proper, or an adjacent building?
Got yellow buttons?

2 hours early was the norm for the house hearings.

Room 15 is in the basement of the capitol itself, directly below the rotunda. The ceiling is the stained glass floor of the rotunda they always have roped off.
