We will. We are always striving to advance our rights.

What's happening now is that they are making hay out of moral panic in the aftermath of some mass shootings. They get bursts of energy from these things, but the public's attention span is short.

When the dust settles, we will still be here.

Agreed. The side that gets to define the terms usually gets to control the debate. The entire notion of "compromise" has been redefined into meaning one side giving ground (but not gaining anything) while the other side gets some of what they want, just not all. The linked article has an entertaining definition of the word "compromise" as well.

I would love to see the BATFE given a real enema. Eliminate their ability to rule by fiat (i.e. arbitrarily declaring something a "destructive device") and strip a lot of the foolish regulations away. There's no reason for 922r compliance rules or the various import restrictions we have. The same goes for bore size - if Smith & Wesson wants to add another new round to their X-Frame platform and declares it to be the .750 S&W Magnum, that's up to them. Go ahead and have a three shot wheelgun with a ridiculously large bore size - you shouldn't have to gargle the BATFE's berries to do so.

Pretty much. Weather the storm, try to minimize the damage to our rights, and fight back once the public moves onto something else.
