Do they actually make ammo there or just distribute ammo made in Sao Paulo to the US/NA market from there?

Right now nearly every one of the major ammo manufacturers are importing and repackaging overseas ammo and/or components for the popular calibers. Its cheaper and faster than retooling and/or hiring more staff....plus, once demand goes back to normal (one way or the other), they can simply resume domestic production and quit overseas ordering.
Nothing to see here. Continue swimming.

Do you have a cite for that? According to Magtech, they make all of their ammo at their plant in Brazil.

US Distribution center is in MN.

Nope.

See, that's what I thought, but as JohnGage points out; that's not the case. Glad I'm not the only one who thought that, but now I know.

Well, I haven't had my hands on a box of MagTech in a year, until recently when I stocked up from an online source. It very well may. I'll check it out when I get home later.

45acp should not be hard to find. I work at a well known sporting goods store and can say that the only ammo we have a hard time with is 22lr, 9mm, and .223/5.56. Everything else is in stock and has been for quite some time. I believe we even had a large cart of 45acp by Winchester in the 100rd value pack on sale last week. We still receive the hard to find calibers but due to us not having an ammo limit it's gone before we can even take it off the pallet to put on the shelf.

On a brighter note. I have seen signs of the AR shortage coming to an end. We recently received about nine AR's in last week and still have five of them on our shelves. Usually they are gone in about two hours, so I would say it might be getting to a point where everyone who wanted one just about has one.

Sorry I cant give more insight on the ammo companies back ups. I wish I would have bought stock in one of these companies last year before the shortages! :D

Well, when I've been to WalMart, DIcks, even BPR, all out. Maybe I just have bad luck in find it, but I've bought it at those places before without much of a problem. If you have it in stock, PM me. I'm buying. I may pick up a few extra thousand rounds.

I know what you mean on the .22LR. I ordered sometime in January and Brownells has my .22LR on back-order until they get it, which is due to be 02/25, after which IF they get it, then I will. It's only 5,250 (10 boxes of 525 Federal Bulk Packs), which isn't a lot of ammo for .22LR I think. The .45ACP I ordered from luckygunner shipped right away, no back order at all, however finding these calibers locally has been a major PITA.

I'd like to pick up 1,000 of the .45ACP, maybe as much as 3,000. Do you know if you have it on hand and the price per box?

Isn't your favorite Magtech ammo made in Brazil?

Interesting., Thought it was American made.

From wikipedia:
The Americas (or America) are lands in the Western Hemisphere that are also known as the New World. Comprising the continents of North America and South America along with their associated islands

Thats right kids, everything from Canada to Argentina is 'made in America'. Made in America is not the same as "made in the USA".

I may have to make a trip.

...and if the 9 is made outside the US, the .45 probably is too.
