That would make most law abiding people comply with "universal background checks", plus eliminate the possibility of turning this bill into gun registration. No fees, no extra checks, just due diligence on the part of the seller. People on this board do it anyway.
Wouldn't that solve the problem that Senator Champion was so fired up about?
Why do you need any permission to exercise a right? Why would anyone feel the need/willingness to be burdened by the possible future acts somebody commits with an object?
I'm as stone cold sane,sober and law abiding as the next upstanding citizen. I pass everything with a flying colors. There's nothing in the PTP/PTC/NICs system that will "catch" me or anybody else on (or before) the day we lose our minds, get pissed of for the final time, etc.
If you really think 100% safety is the goal, then 100% confiscation is the only real solution. Anything less is semantics -- costly, ineffective, and about control- not guns.
