She's the perfect Republicrat. She's not at all vulnerable. She's also pretty useless.
Franken would be vulnerable if opposed by a good candidate. Unfortunately, Republicans have tended to try to elect Tea Party psychos of late and that means Democrats win.
We're just lucky Dayton is as moderate and intelligent as he is and also has a lot of RURAL MN friends, supporters and contacts.
Remember, gun control is not Republican vs. Democrat, but almost always an urban vs. rural issue and we must remember that when we support politicians.
Excellent post. I must confess, this thread has caused me to rethink my opinion of Dayton a little bit. Now, if I could just keep his hands out of my pocket....
You want a good state to live in......you're gonna have to pay some taxes.
That's the way it works.
If you want Mississippi or Louisiana, elect a Tea Party governor and a Tea Party legislature and that's what we'll have.
Myself, I like the traditional Minnesota values. Where will Dayton and those values finally bring us on gun control?
We're likely going to end up with some form of increased background checks to purchase certain (terrifying black) types of firearms.....maybe on everybody except family members (we may get cousins and uncles added to the exemption if we're lucky).
That's just the way it is. We may not like it, but a poll of Minnesotans would probably strongly support that outcome.
