Great, another thread that has turned into attacking each other.

I'm not attacking anyone. I just want an explanation of "Minnesota values " and why they're better than the values of people in other parts of the country.

Traditional Minnesota values have been fair taxation, well-funded public education, good public service, good medical facilities, good roads and infrastructure and caring for the elderly and vulnerable among us.

The "Minnesota Miracle" about 40 years ago was a good example.

Minnesota has been a leader nationally, or at least was, until recent years of Republican dominance.

Mississippi, by the way, is mostly famous for obesity and failing schools.

Good roads and infrastructure? Really? We had a freakin bridge fall down and kill 13 or more people! I get tired of all the constant, non-stop road construction because this state can't/won't spend the money to do it right the first time! And I'm not talking about new construction, I'm talking about repaving the freeways every 3-4 years because of the potholes and generally crappy surface wear from quick fix programs....about side streets so lumpy with asphalt patches you don't dare go over the 30 mph limit lest you leave your muffler behind. Try driving on any of the side streets off of University Ave. in the Midway area. You want guaranteed work? Get a job in road construction.

Don't forget the crappy snow removal. I lived in New York state for 23 years and saw good snow removal firsthand. If you could get out of your driveway you could get anywhere. We have a place in Wyoming also. Same thing. And good roads there as well.

In Minnesota I've been the first one through fresh snow on my street on several occasions. Thankfully I have a 4matic Mercedes that goes through. What it comes down to in this state is the more taxes one pays the less government he (or she) uses.

New to this board , but in reading some of the comments, I would post this. The difference is between Republicans and Democrats. Not all Rural v metro.
Does anyone on any of these bills that are being proposed around the country see many Republicans as authors of the Bills, None that I can see. Only in NY do you see any republican even voting for these bills. All of these anti gun/ pro banning bills are being sent down from the top IE Obama-Biden for them to put up these bills. This to me says Dems are behind the gun bills. I am not normally a black helicopter person but damn, it is scaring me that the Homeland Security folks are buying millions and millions of rounds of ammo, targets that depict men and women and kids and the ammo being of full metal jacket, hollow points and such. They aint used for target practice.
Even if this ban on semi autos and large capacity magazines passes, don't fool yourself that6 shooters and rifles and other guns are not next. Pelosi has stated previously that she wants all our guns. The current residence of the WH has not ever been a fan of guns and is not going to change his mind either. These bills are just the start of full confiscation but they do not want Americans to hear that term.

And a question to those who feel that the quality of living in this state far exceeds that in other states, where else have you lived? Do you have any basis for comparison?
