S&W 460

Postby brewerbob on Sat Feb 23, 2013 4:13 pm

Was at Bills in Robbinsdale today. Rented the 460. Ammo used was a "piddly" 200 grain Hornady. First shot scared the hell out of me due to the flash. The next four placed well. Unloaded the spent cases, turned around and saw everyone int the range and the main room watching me. Eric had a ****eating grin on his face and both thumbs high in the air. Took a bow, and let my son take the next five. Hilarity ensued. Finished the twenty round box with a slightly numb hand. No one shot when we did due to the pressure wave effects.

The group next to us (wiyh a couple of exchange students from the norweigen army) got the revolver next. Fun was had by all. While they were using the S&W, we took out my rio grande in 45-70. We were the loudest two bays on the range. The 460 is my next purchase.

A guy had one at Bills in Hudson a while back. It's a big gun.

I have wanted a PC 460 for some time for hunting use.

So if you have tons of .500S&W stuff but like the .460S&W which one do you get? I think I'm in the position where I'm going to have to buy four pistols.

a "full half inch"? isn't that self-defeating? i mean, a full inch is a full inch. a half inch is a half inch. a FULL half inch is nonsensical.
speaking of, Seth (the guy with the 5" 460 @ Bill's) reminds me of Young Frankenstein: "... You are talking about the nonsensical ravings of a lunatic mind!"

yeah, Gunforhire, it was cool meeting you.
Brewerbob was pretty damn excited to play with the little cannon. too damn spendy for my blood, but damn if it isn't fun!
