As far as box cutters, razors, etc. I guarantee you that if some Jihadi tried to hijack a plane today with a box cutter, people wouldn't be waiting around for it to play out. The stakes are higher, a controlled plane means everyone dies. I know i'd rush a machete holding hijacker with a god damned rolled up sky mall if it meant keeping my family from a jet fuel BBQ.

A box cutter blade that protrudes less than an inch is more dangerous than a 2+ inch knife blade. So is it because a box cutter is now an assault knife?
