Yup us certified range officer always point out the unsafe practices and save people from themselves. We just suck the fun right out of AD's.

I watched a Certified Range Officer basically shut down an area range to any sort of "Action Shooting Sports" by testifying to the county board that "running with a loaded weapon is very unsafe and shouldn't be allowed".

At all 3-gun stages that involve shotgun you will be required to do this same thing. As a squad, you will pre-load your shotgun magazine tube but leave the chamber empty and safety on. This is done prior to the stage begining so that it does not need to be done with every shooter prior to them shooting, thus saving a lot of time. This is common practice across the country due to the fact it has been found to be perfectly safe as long as you don't put a round in the chamber or take the safety off. This is done under the direction of the Range Officer to ensure safety. Kind of like in the video.

I do understand about the safety aspect and the input is appreciated, I think it was more the condesending attitude that tends to raise the hackles.

Not you, personally ...

... this is an ongoing issue (as noted by Payne) ... "certified range officers"!

For what you've been TOLD ... and what you've been SHOWN ... I'm sure you've done absolutely everything you needed to, to receive your "certification"! ... no question! ... congratulations! ... seriously!

Now ... step down from yer pedestal ... jest a minute ... and consider ... a Harvard graduate ... studied Constitutional Law ... does that mean, that EVERY ****in' thing that comes outta his mouth is the absolute gospel, on the topic?!

The simple fact remains, there is such an organization as the NROI! ... and ya know what?! ... to be able to TEACH an NROI class ... well ... ya need a damn sight more 'n a ****in' piece of paper with yer name on it!

No disrespect fer those "certified" to teach such a class ... 'er those who've been taught ... and also "certified"!

But, yer "certification" is NOT from the NROI ... and has absolutely DICK to do with USPSA/IDPA/SASS/3-Gun! ... or the practicing/training that goes with it!

Ya wanna otherwise explain to some of the world's top competitors what's "safe" or not?! ... show up to a ****in' match! ... then show up to a hunderd more of 'em! ... then take the NROI Level I RO course! ... then take the Level II course ... after 'nuff years ... and if an honest to God NROI Range Master decides it's ok ... MAYBE ... MAYBE ... you'll be qualified to talk 'bout **** you otherwise know nothing about!

... 'til then, if ya continue to spout off ... ya should know ... to those of us who've actually shot a few matches ... and get it! ... yer bull**** reeks of the same kinda misinformed, misguided, arrogant, idiotic rhetoric the likes of the VPC, Brady Bunch, 'er whatever they call themselves, spouts off!

... and I'm sorry ... really I am ... if I hurt yer feelings! ... that's not my intent! ... not at all!

But, I'm quite certain I know of the range Payne's referring to! ... and if it wasn't a "certified RO", it was most certainly someone of a very similar self-righteous mindset!

... and I've seen/heard very similar rhetoric around USPSA at OGC! ... and I have little doubt, fer no other reason, it'll end up ... eventually ... the same way!

And for what?! ... 'cause someone took a 4hr online course, got a piece of paper with their name on it ... and now thinks they know absolutely everything there is to know 'bout handling guns?!

Ya don't wanna strap on a holster ... draw from it on a timer ... run around ... have fun?! ... fine! ... don't! ... but who the **** are you?! ... to set back and spout off about what's otherwise been goin' on fer DECADES ... and it's only really an issue 'cause you jest happened to hear 'bout it, last week?!

Go have ****in' tea with Heather Martens! ... I'm sure the two of ya could come up with all kinds of ways to keep the rest of us "safe"!

WRONG, I am a USPSA certified RO and have been for over 5 years, so next time before you make a half baked comment maybe you want to get you stuff together first.
