Who said it was priced right. I didn't research the gun I just walked in to look around saw this gun and ask to see it. After seeing it I then started with the questions about ammo. Then to find out there was no ammo for that gun in that store, I thought that was pretty strange. That's a pretty common gun. Maybe he had ammo and maybe he didn't but that doesn't change the fact that I was told he didn't have ammo for it. As I looked at the other guns it was the same with ammo they were out. At least so he say's. Did he or didn't he, I couldn't tell you I don't work there,. I wasn't there to buy a gun in the first place. I was looking. I did like the gun and I will do my homework and hunt it down and buy it. My question is how hard is it to find ammo for the gun and is there really a 3000 person waiting list?
Thanks

So I said cool let me see 44 mag. another very nice gun. OK can I get ammo for this and he told me yes we can put you on the list. I said...a list? He tells me yeah you would be around 3000 on that list. Ouch !! OK let's make it simple I say. Let me take a look at that .40 cal and before he handed it to me he say's yep. No ammo for this gun either. So I asked him why would I buy a gun with no ammo? He looked at me shroud his shoulders with a smile. What does that mean? So where do you buy ammo now and what available ?

Thanks Brian

If you really wanted a particular gun that they had in stock and was priced right why would you give a rat's ass about whether that particular store has ammo? Impatient much? Buy the gun and find ammo somewhere else later. You'll have the gun forever - whether you get out to shoot it today or two weeks from now isn't a big deal.

I'm also confused about your waiting list comment... 3000 people from that one store/company waiting on a single particular handgun model? Or was that just hyperbole? Or were you saying there is a waiting list for .44 mag ammo?

Find ammo later? If only one could offer that guarantee.
I would NEVER buy a gun in a caliber without knowing I could with absolute certainty find ammo for it that day. In fact, when planning to get into a new caliber I've often bought the ammo first. Perhaps, this stems from the time I bought an SKS, and only picked up a hundred rounds to go with it that day - only to find it disappeared after that, for quite some time...

start reloading... expensive to get started but once you get everything you need it pays off quick. Plus its fun. I'm still able to find .44 projectiles here and there. Currently have 300 XTPS. With 2,000 primers and 200 new pieces of brass in addition to my other 300 some pieces I would say I am set for a while.

You made it sound like lack of ammo was the only reason you passed on the purchase, which led to my assumption that it was priced right for you. If that's not the entire picture then the ammo situation is really a meaningless portion of the story. If it is the whole reason you passed then I return to my prior statement wondering why it was a dealbreaker.

You're apparently more impatient that I am. I don't run to the range the second I bring home a new toy. Unless you need the gun for an upcoming competition or as your carry gun I don't see the urgent need. Different priorities, I guess. To each their own.

I suppose so. Guess if I could afford to have an expensive paperweight sitting around for a while my mind might change.

What more can I say - I have all the components to get you started with some initial loads until you can "BUY".
