If he has been a spokesman for gun rights (which he has been, to my knowledge) it makes sense for the NRA to contribute. Right now, even if he wanted to fight gun bans, his party will be using everything they can to strongarm him into supporting their agenda. Voting big O into the presidency twice was the biggest mistake americans have made in decades. Not because of his beliefs, or his agenda, but because it allows him to bring chicago politics to DC and entrench thos same chicago politics into the system.

I dont know if Reid wants to take our side or not right. Ow, but like I said, even if he did I can guarantee you their will be a price to pay for it.

That said, i still think Reid is a douche and would still vote against him given the chance.

Once again, NRA stabs us in the back

It's not the National Republican Association folks. And without Harry Reid's position and steadfast gun rights record / stance we'd already have the crap rammed through.

The NRA's single issue policy is part of what got us here.

I'm not saying they should only support republicans (lord knows they're not all worth voting for), but to concentrate money to candidates based solely on their gun voting history is a poor way to choose leaders.

Which is why it is our duty to do our homework as voters and vote on candidates we believe in rather than just going based on what a single issue lobby thinks of on a candidate's stance on that single issue.

Lobbies dont elect representatives, we do. If you arent doing your homework come election day, then you are just helping us all become victims of our own societal impotance.

Candidate A has voted for amnesty to illegals, shipping jobs overseas with tax breaks, govt run healthcare, and pro gun. (incumbent)

Candidate B wants to keep jobs here, limit government, enforce immigration laws, and also is pro gun.

NRA will put all their money behind candidate A because they have the better chance of getting reelected.

I can't be the only one who takes issue with this. :?

Well said. We are not in a position where we can push away potential allies.

ya jest make this **** up as ya go?! ... or ya got a link?! ... psychic?! :|

I highly doubt the NRA'd put dollar ONE on any "A" candidate running against another "A" candidate ... 'er "B" ... maybe even "C"?! ... that would be idiotic!

As I understand it, they won't even give money to an "A" candidate vs. an "F" candidate, if it ain't even close! ... either way!

Ya don't like that?! ... don't join! ;) ... see how long ya keep yer guns! :ugeek:

If ya believe whatever else a candidate says, and that means more to ya, than keepin' yer guns, I can't help ya! :hammer:

Look man ... ya got a hold of a bad link, and ya used it to try to trash-talk! ... it didn't work out! ... it happens! ... not a big deal!

Move on! ;)

You forget that candidate A is already an elected official with seniority and a track record of standing up for the NRA's cause. Its not just about his chances for reelection, its what he can bring to the table.

The NRA isnt about a political philosophy, its there at the capitol to protect a god given, explicitly guaranteed human right from those who would very much like that human right erased from history. That by itself is a full time job, let alone adding in philosophies on immigration, job creation, etc. again, we need all the allies we can get just on this one single god given explicitly guaranteed right. It would be pure folley to start pushing away those that have different views on non related topics.

And your proposed alternative to the NRA is.....? Perhaps you can do it all yourself. Just a few emails here and there should do the trick.

The NRA doesn't have a monopoly on defending the 2A. Even if they did, it would not be a good defense in not calling them out if they are not doing a good job of it.

The scary thing is if Harry Reid is out and the Dems still control the Senate, Chuck Shumer is next in line to be in charge.

I can't stand Reid and the things he says but replacing him with Schumer would only make things worse.
