Capras had 3 cases of Federal .223 sitting out for $600 and shelves full of PMC and some other individual boxes/configuration of .223, .22 shorts ($8 a sleeve), 22 longs ($10 per sleeve) but no 22 LR, most every handgun caliber (including 10mm)... They sold 2 cases of the Federal within minutes of it coming in this morning, 8 total in stock.. I also saw a stack of sealed cases of PMC .223 presumably for a similar price.

Also, whoever was looking for JB paste - they have both red/blue in stock for around $13.

I saw AR's on the rack at both Frontiersman and Capras right around the sweet 1k mark, typical M4gery stuff (one looked like a home built DTI lower/upper with Magpul furniture, Smith M&P or Bushies for the rest).

The bargain price of 37 cents per round

That makes my .20 a round x 100 rounds for $20.00 look like a deal at almost 50% off....and some people here think I was being an opportunistic...psha!!

There's no way I could have replaced the ammo at .20 a round, so I'm glad I didn't sell it now. The way it's going, I'd have to sell it at .40, and more likely at .60 to .70 a round to replace it and either cover the expense of time, gas, etc to meet them, or to ship it to them - and even that rate, I wouldn't be making any substantial amount of money and I may even have STILL lost money on the deal. I think the only way to really for me to CYA for rising prices and make a profit of any substance, would be to sell it would be at .75 - $1.00 a round. Of course even tat price, the bs. isn't worth it, so no, I won't make that mistake again.

As any business person knows, you generally want to keep your initial investment and 1/4th of your final selling price, so if it costs you $1.00, you sell it for $4.00. Since I paid $7.00 for the 100 rounds of CCI Mini Mags, 4x that is $28.00, but clearly at $18.99 for 50 or $37.98 for 2 x 50 for 100, that $28 number is now off, if alll things being equal as far as ammo quality and such go. In an inflated marketplace, we seem to be seeing numbers at a 1:5 or 1:5+ ratio as far as that goes.

So in short, hey thanks everyone for NOT buying my .22LR I had for sale on here. You did me a favor because I actually under-priced based on current market conditions.

I know where you can get 22lr for as little as 20 cents a round.....it's called an antique store! I was going through an antique mall a couple weeks ago looking at the boxes of old 22lr scattered around the place priced from $10 to $60 for a box of 50. Most of it was 50 to 80 years old. Even saw a nice unopened Remington gift box from the 1970s with 300 rounds and a buck knife for $49. What a deal!

Only .41 a round, damn near .45ACP prices.

What was I saying about needing to sell it for more to account for the price hikes and related expenses to selling it? :)

If .22 prices continue to go upwards past $0.40/round, I might as well pack away the .22 caliber guns and start shooting .40 caliber as it's almost the same price now.

This is nothing more than people being foolish. The same mentality that had people buying GI mags for $50 a piece and P-Mags for $70 each in January. Really, it will blow over. The AR frenzy has died down significantly, so has the panic buying of 5.56 ammo. LEt's not kid around. If you sold your .22 ammo at triple your cost that is a raping by any measurable standard. These prices WILL NOT LAST.

So do I. No fun with a BB gun when the BB bounces off the tin can instead of going through. Yeah I know, there are higher powered air guns out there, but still...not the same as hearing that "bang" and getting your first whiff of burnt power in the morning. :)

I agree -- just giving you a hard time. ;-) 40cpr for .22 kinda takes the fun out of it though.

Well, I don't need the money that badly. Honestly, the whole whinefest a day or so ago turned me off to selling any gun related items.

We know, We know, you don't need any money as you are VERY well off. I think people's personal finances are their own business, maybe that's just me.

However, you're the one preaching "buy low, sell high" over and over again. I'm just suggesting following your own advice. If you're gonna let a little forum back and forth stop you from profiting thousands of dollars, then I guess that's your own choice.
