Just because one bill made it out of committee doesn't mean the deal is done. It still needs to make it through the full Senate, and the House will need to do the exact same thing. If it fails at any point, then it's dead. I would say there's a better than 50/50 chance that they won't have the votes to make this bill a law. The difference is really us, and whether we can pursuade our own legislators to vote in our favor. I think we can.

'Protect Minnesota' is parading around Little Sami Rahamin who is essentially the 'Gun Violence Porn-Star-of-the-Month' ....and they're basically saying:

DO SOMETHING, DO ANYTHING. DON'T THINK ABOUT IT, JUST DO IT.

The backround checks bill (paymer) has to go throug Hillstroms comittee and he' screaming about it. "She has to compromise!" . In this case, the progressives have to learn that a conversation implies a dialogue. Not stuffing crap down peoples throats. Typical authoritarian. And yeah, the conservatives do the same thing but we are not talking about them now. So lay off.

Seems as though even if Latz did pass his bill in the Senate that Paymars companion bill in the House may not get passed out of committee because of a DFL'er. God bless gridlock.

You know, I take this as a good sign. If that's all they have left to try at this point, then they're really on the ropes swingin' blind as they say. The "race card" is something played by people with nothing left to help their cause.
