Racial inequity?

Doesn't make sense and shows that they're real desperate.

Apparently, a disproportionate number of black people commit crimes with guns, so if we only punish criminals who use guns, we would actually be racists. It's much better to punish all gun owners, not just the criminals, since most of them are fat middle aged white guys who are in need of some punishing to achieve racial equality anyways.

Make sense?

I see. They have been reduced to spouting nonsense that only appeals to their own small group.

That can't be good for their side.

Here's the thing though - I don't believe they see it as a nonsensical appeal to their base, they actually believe it. Like the guy that testified that his "hero" brother was a victim of gun violence, because if not for the gun, his brother wouldn't have murdered someone during a robbery and ended up in prison. It took me awhile to even get my head around what his argument was, it was so twisted. For awhile I was convinced that these people were brain damaged, most likely the result of too many illicit substances in conjunction with a vulnerable mind. While this might be the case for some, I've come realize there is another reason.

I'm absolutely convinced that the modern gun control movement is in fact a cult. They rely on completely irrational, illogical, and emotional arguments supported by deceit, fraud, and outright lies. You can point this out to them, but they'll dismiss you out of hand and hold true to their beliefs. Their position is one entirely supported by faith, and is devoid of any and all substance. There's no arguing or reasoning with these people, they are as absolutely convinced their cause is just as any other religious cultist, and are willing to do anything to force their beliefs on all the rest of us sinners.

Pretty much.

They are fundamentalist to the point that what they are being fundamental about takes a back seat to the fundamentalism itself. Well, if being anti-gun can be a religion, so can being pro-gun I guess. Just call me Pope.
