Is this event open to the general public for just viewing only? I don't know much about 3gun competition but would like the opportunity to observe the matches

Thanks

Our events are open to the public. You're welcome to come and observe. You're even more welcome to come early and help set-up, or help with stage reset after each shooter. Make sure you bring eye and ear protection. And feel free to ask questions. Our MN3GG is about promoting the 3-gun sport and getting new people involved.

MADD, there is a 3gun training class the day before. Maybe there is still room.

I'll try to locate the thread.

EDIT: here it is.

For this next match there will be one stage that will be a 3GunNation Classifier Stage. This stage will be part of the new Club Series designed by 3GunNation to try to attract new shooters to the sport. Numerous Shooting Clubs from around the country have signed up for the Club Series and they will be putting on classifier stages throughout the year. Shooters that have signed up to be members of this series will have their scores entered into a database that can be compared against other shooters from around the country that have shot the same stages. NOTE: Shooters DO NOT have to become members to shoot these matches, or the particular classifier stage at the match. But also to be noted is that there will be numerous great prizes given out through random draw to club series members. Each classifier that they shoot puts there name into the hat for a better chance to draw a prize. Prizes consist of Remington Versa-max shotgun, AR trigger, and numerous other nice products.

I forgot to add that the prizes that will be given away, are prizes that are given away from just the MN3GunGroup. So your entry by shooting these stages as a Club Series Member is like another raffle ticket thrown into the pot, but the pot is just for our area. Pretty good chances for good prizes.

To become a member, go to http://www.3gunnation.com click on the "Membership" tab, then click "Club Series", then move to the the "Register to Compete" tab. Once you go through the registration process you will be brought to your personal page. If you click on your "Bio" tab you will see how to create a bio if you wish, but more importantly it will have your member number listed there. You will need that number so your scores get placed in the proper location. On this same page there is "Stages" tab at the upper right. If you click that tab you will get a list of all of the currently available stage descriptions. We are hoping to run "3GN 01-13 Down and Dirty" at this next match. Members that wish to have their score sent to 3GunNation to entered in the Club Series scores will pay a $3.00 administration fee for each classifier that is sent in.

I think I have those directions down correctly. If you have any questions, please ask.

Classifier stage looks pretty cool. Fast and no reloads, but not bad. Now if the snow would ever **** go away I'd set it up and give it a couple practice runs. For the 3GN classifiers, does anyone know if there is an "official" size on the pistol box? Not like I would build one to practice or anything

See Ya'll on the 28th.

Shooter115,

If you are looking at the stage description there is a second tab that gives better descriptions that are easier to read. I believe the "pistol box" has minimum size of 12"x15" or something like that. Also to be noted, all long guns start with the butt of the weapon completely on the table, no stock can be hanging off. Long guns are abandoned in a barrel and you cannot abandon two long guns in the same barrel or you will be charged a proceedural. I can't rembember the status of the weapons at the start but I think on this one they are all completely loaded to division capacity and on safe. I would have to check that one. Also when shooting prone with the rifle, the foot fault rule does not apply.

In reference to the 3 gun nation classifier, Shooters need to bring 3 dollars cash to the match if you want your score submitted. If not you score will not be sent in.

Jay, where can I find the classifier stage description? I'm planning on shooting Holmen the week before, but would love to see how I stack up on a national level, so I may have to make this match too... (if my new rifle runs)

Dave,

When you sign up for the Classifier Series, you will be brought to a page for you to create a profile if you wish. On that same pager, toward the top, there is a "stages" button. If you click that, you will be brought to a page that has all of the classifiers to date. 3GunNation is hoping to have around 50 classifier stages total, I think there are around eight or so right now.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't seen this mentioned yet. If you are competing in the 3GN Club Series you need to have your membership number handy to put on your score sheets so it can be entered. Just a reminder to write it down somewhere and make sure it goes in your range bag.

I'm going to be handling this 3-Gun Nation Classifier thing, but I am yet to get familiar with all the process to go with it. This is our first run at this so please be patient with us.

Chris is probably right about the membership number as we will need something to identify the shooter with 3-Gun Nation. So bring that along with your $3 to cover the 3-gun Nation fee of submitting the score. This $3 fee is seperate from the match fee set by the host range.

Guys,

I know it was a long post, but if read you through my long post farther up in this thread you will see where it was mentioned how to find your member # and to make sure and write it down for use at this match. I don't know if/when 3GunNation will be sending out memborship cards with our number on it.

I also don't know that if you are signed up with the semi-pro series that your number would be the same as the club series membership number. This program is new to everyone (including 3GunNation) so there might be a little bit of a learning curve. So please bare with us.

This is probably a dumb question, but the membership on 3gunnation requires a membership fee of $25 correct? I just want to make sure I'm looking at the right thing.
