What did you find out about insurance? I would think it would be expensive to insure a shooting range.

$500 isnt cheap and I am not made of money, but if it was close and a good range I would find a way to pay it.

It all depends on where you want to put this range. Asking about if we would join and not giving specific location is like asking if we would pay to go in space and then say it was Saturn and not the moon.

Sorry... some "city" folk here don't go beyond a few miles from their house where us "country" folk will drive an hour and not give a crap.

I like the monthly.... $500.00 is a lot for some folks .... do it like a club contract $ 200.00 initiation fee and $42.00 per month... waive the $200.00 fee for a two year contract. auto debit bank account ..........

$10.00 FFL transfers limit of 5 per month
$10 guest fee
$30 shooting fee per person for non- member- non guest
maybe you form an LLC and a private stock offering to raise some upfront cash

Presupposing what people would pay is probably working backwards. You need a business plan..... find out costs, including building, taxes, maintenance, insurance...all that stuff. Once you know the costs (up front and ongoing), then you'll know how many members/customers you have to have and how much they'd have to pay to make the venture support itself. My guess is that $500 per month resulting in a self supporting shooting range for a private club is wildly optimistic.

How much does it cost for Sealed Mindset?

This is Larry Yatch the founder and CEO of Sealed Mindset.

Sealed Mindset is primarily a training facility offering over 120 individual training events every month.

We do have a range only membership with costs $150 a month and does not require a contract.

It includes access to our two indoor ranges. We allow members to draw from the holster, move, and shoot in low light after being assessed that they can do it safely. The two ranges allow for both beginner and advanced shooters to work on different skills, on different ranges at the same time.

This membership also includes free use of our 3 laser and video training systems, and our live scenario room and simunition guns.

Online booking, targets, hearing and eye protection, and use of our custom guns is included in thing membership. Members can buy or bring their own ammunition including reloads.

For the $150 you also get access to 5 different martial arts classes and 8 different defensive fitness classes, every week, at no extra charge.

I’ve found a building that is zoned commercial and would be the best indoor range that one could imagine. It’s for sale and pretty cheap. Does anyone on here have any advice or direction they could share. What are some of the state requirements etc., insurance needed, how many staff are needed when range is hot etc. It is located in town and I don’t think the city will have any issues with this but any and all info will be greatly appreciated. For example, can you build your own stations? Does MN have specific requirements for ventilation, and or what type of back stop you use? There are about a dozen guys committed to this adventure so the sky’s the limit at this point. More details to follow in the next month.
