Unfortunately I was just notified by a friend in the firearms industry that Tom Knapp has passed away. Tip your hat and have a bump tonight to honor a true legend and a genuine patriot.

That's sad. I saw him a few times up in Dalton. He put on a good show and was a nice guy. Heck of a shot.

What a damn shame, he was a great shooter and host. My best to his family.

We were lucky enough to see him at a gun and game expo years ago. My favorite trick he did was two stacked paint cans. Shoots the bottom one which launches the top can, then keeps that can suspended in mid air with six more shots.

Tom Knapp knew how to put on a show, and he was an awesome shot. He was also a leader by example.

I feel very fortunate that I got to shake his hand after two great performances at Ahlmans a couple of years ago....he will be missed.

Two weeks ago on History channel, they had a two hour show called SharpShooters and Tom Knapp was one of the featured shooters. Saw him throw 8 clays with one hand, and hit all eight before they hit the ground, with a pump shotgun! Amazing!

His work with a shotgun was amazing.....What he could do with his little CZ .22 mag would leave your jaw on the ground. Tape up the hole in a washer, throw it up in the air and shoot through the tape. He could throw a golf ball up in the air and intentionally make it slice, hook or go straight as an arrow. Throw a golf ball up and shoot it multiple times as it's flying away. Throw aspirin up in the air and shoot it. The list goes on. Depending on where you saw his show you may or may not have seen his uncanny abilities with a rifle. Truly one of the greatest exhibition shooters to have ever lived.

I still don't know how to embed a video, but the man also knew how to throw a salute with style.
