I agree there are SOME limitations, but it's not THAT bad. I have used VV N340, N350 and 3N37 with success (not just N110) and the same goes for AA#5 and AA#7 (not just AA#9).
That said, a max load of H110 is max fun, but saying a DE ONLY eats a max load is just repeating a myth that's been around forever.

Well. you are correct in that you can come up with other loads for the DE 44 mag (or 50AE, for that matter) but they are ALL weaker loads with less YEEEHAWWWW!!! factor. WTF is the point of that?? With the 629 there is a point. With the DE, it means you're a ***** who can't stand the heat in the kitchen.

I can live with that. The DE44 is my 3gun handgun.

If I ever get to go to a bowling pin match, my DE50 is coming with me. I'll practice my rapid fire a lot first, but getting 5 pins down in 8 rounds is certainly doable if you're in the groove with that big bitch. Hell, with a DE50 even a graze will knock the pin off the table!

They might make you bring your own pins. :)

And anyway the only time I saw anybody get a standing ovation upon clearing the table was when a guy did it with a 5-shot snubby.

I witnessed a standing ovulation once, but I was much younger.

Between the 629 and DE I'd pick the 629. I have the DE in 44 and 50 and it's more fun with the 50. That takes 34gr of H110 with a 300gr bullet.

I don't have a 629 but I have a couple of Ruger Super Blackhawks and shoot 44 spl and 4 Russian out of them as well as 44 mag so there is much more versatility.

Without a Doubt the DE, but I am very partial. You can shoot .50 AE with a barrel change or .357 Mag with barrel and bolt. Very fun to shoot, my favorite by far. Although if you do not have a wheel gun the 629 would be great. Every collection needs a big revolver. The .44 DE will not shoot specials, but why would you want to.
Why do it your self today, when you you can delegate it to someone else. MLLNHD 2/1/13

I would go with a 629 but my advise is to get what you want not based on what others think. Weigh out the pluses and minuses of each then adjust for the "coolness" then go for it.

Thanks Dutch I am going to get Smith and Wesson 629-6 reason being well I got to inspect it and handled well, DE 44 has the looks and power but I want the freedom to choose what I want to shoot instead of boring FMJ's plus my uncle owns a DE he likes it but is having a fun time locating grips for his and ghetto fabulous is overrated lmao! Looking for that bad ass factor

I'd say you better work on your rapid fire first. There was a 14 hour delay on your double-tap. At that rate, it would take you almost three days to clear the table - and that's if you only need one round per pin. :rotf:
