True. Hopefully a big fat settlement check and jail time for his attacker will help ease the pain.

The civil suit is forthcoming I'm sure. I'm still interested if the judge will do a downward departure for the former Police Sergeant. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I wonder what his fellow swat members think of his conviction... you know, the ones that packed the courtroom in support during his initial hearing, then (some of which) escorted him to the bail bondsman immediately thereafter?

You can support a friend and still think he's a complete idiot at the same time.

Wow, isn't that the truth......

Are you saying he shouldn't get something for what will likely be life long injuries? A friend/coworker of mine sustained a head injury while biking (without a helmet) and can no longer taste or smell anything as a result (and this was a few years ago). While he "earned" (his own words) his subdural hematoma and subsequent issues, this other guy was only guilty of being foul-mouthed, didn't do anything to earn his multiple brain injuries. I'm not sure if your being sarcastic or real on this one.

I'm not saying that at all. There was zero sarcasm in my post.

That makes no sense at all.

+1 for consistency though.

Any word on the sentence? He was supposed to be sentenced today (May 29th) but I haven't heard or read anything.

Moved back so defense can get him evaluated for PTSD from combat duty.
