You had this built or you built it yourself?
Can we get more information on it,, like the kit name or a place we can go to look at the kits?

I really like it cept the huge thing on the bottom of the grip, not sure if I would need to have that on it not.

I bought all the parts and then sent them to the builder. No kit here. Many, many evenings of research on parts.

I'm still going to shoot my glocks just not as much.

Caspian Slide 5" 40 Solid, Bald. Per the smiths request I got one with the reverse plug arleady cut into it.

I've been contemplating one of these for a few years, and yours just makes the itch stronger.

Going from a plastic gun (G35) to one of these is like cheating. PM me your email and I can send you a copy of my build sheet with links tomorrow afternoon when I get home form work. Gary who built it for me is now retired from full builds. Mine is the last limited gun build for him and Mr.Vvrroomm's open gun that he just finished is the last open gun build for him. My next gun will probably be a Brazo's or a Grundhauser. Maybe even an open just for fun.

I've got enough 1911 experience to handle compiling parts. I've never fit a frame to slide before, but that's part of why I want to make one of these. I had actually bought my Range Officer to play with doing golf ball or chain link dimpling, but don't really feel the love for it like I would a different slide serration pattern - so that brings me back to starting from scratch and having a go at it.

Glocks suck. I'll probably always carry a single stack, but for playing around (range, etc) a double would be fun. I still think I want a .38 Super.

Hell if you're going to go 38super. Why not build a full blown race gun?

Because I suck too much with pistols to be effective in competition.

I've gone from not embarrassing, to straight up awful after my wrist surgeries. I need to relearn how to shoot again. I still like cool looking guns though.

Looks like a really nice custom piece. darkwolf45 has a killer custom one, Caspian, really, really slick. Sounds like it's similar to yours...buy the pieces and assemble vs. buying a custom made gun. Even though I see a gun as a tool, I can see doing this to get exactly what you want. Does anyone ever do custom fit grips? (Think molds of your grip / hands.)

The grip I have on there is from extremeshooters.com it has a reduction, double under cut trigger gaurd, stippling on the main spring housing and then you can put any iamage you want on the grip tape. A lot of people stipple the grip themselves. I have a new grip that I havn't decided if I am going to send it to them or try and do it myself.
