Aimpoint Pro on SRH

Postby Synergy on Sun Jun 09, 2013 8:32 am

I happen to have an Aimpoint Pro sitting around that used to be on my AR, I was thinking of mounting it to my Ruger SRH .44 but would have to get Weigand rail to do it. I have found no info on doing this and was wondering if this would be a bad idea or not, most guys are going with an ultradot. I'm a little concerned that I might damage my aimpoint pro with from the recoil.

I did hold it up on the SRH and the sight picture through it was really good, absolutely no problem at all seeing through it even with both eyes open.

Aimpoint Pro on SRH

Hard question to answer
I have a weigand rail on a 629 smith, that was a good idea
Have a Aimpoint Pro on an AR, that is a good idea
Pro stands for "patrol Rifle optic"
Always shoot a red dot both eyes open, its a target focus sight
As for recoil, mine is on a .308, no problem after hundreds of rounds
Try it you've got nothing to lose, pro sits a little hi for a handgun?

I was kind of thinking the same thing, I wanted to give it a try to see if I like using a red dot on a handgun.
