I carry a Guncrafters Model #1 in 50GI, its name is "Baby Duece", and you better give it some EFFEN respect because you can see the 300 grain Gold Dot sitting in the chamber staring at you!!

Oh, and I don't need to worry about no EFFEN STEENKENG setback because Alex uses a .005" TC on that ammo, and it ain't going nowhere until you pull the trigger, and then it comes out the pipe at about 880 FPS or so...

I mostly carry concealed, unless I'm in the EFFN Gopher Bar, where I HAVE to OC, or George will call me a nasty word for gay if I don't!!

..and now for a useful post that actually contributes something......

A good video showing why to carry one chambered... http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=086_1260862712

I'm surprised no one here found this besides me. You know that whole picture vs. a thousand words (including snarky ones).

Ok, now I know you are trying to troll. I posted that video at the bottom of page 2 of the "dealing with the girlfriend" thread where I think you revealed your unchambered open carry practices.

Not trying to troll. I honestly missed that. Whether you choose to believe me or not, I can't control. Believe me when I say, I don't need nor want to troll. Not into drama at all. The video does make a compelling point.

Yes. An adrenaline dump like taking your first hit of crack, meth, pcp, and heroine all at the same time...I don't want anything more to do besides pull the trigger.

Seriously XDM - come shoot the Thursday night league tomorrow at OGC. Your brain will go to mush (like mine does) when you hear the timer start, and you will learn so, so, so much in the next 60 seconds...more than you could learn in a year of static range bay shooting. You will shoot less than 100 rounds over 4 stages, you will have lots of fun and make new friends and did I mention you will learn a lot?

That's a temping offer...and you are probably right. Today may be short notice, what time does it usually start? Is it every Thursday?

Is this this is an open event? I've never been to OGC, but this event intrigued me.

Hmmm...well, if I'm not working, that's do-able. I may start a job on Monday, we'll see. I have the gig, it's just a matter of when I start, not if. I wouldn't be off work until early evening, and in the south metro. I don't think that time will work for me. :(

Find a USPSA or IDPA match closer to home: http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?sr ... ca/Chicago

OGC matches are open to the public. All matches on that google calendar should be open to the public too.

I looked over the FAQ for it on the OGC site and decided not to go last night. I'm taking to heart the admonitions that one should run some of the practices before showing up for their first event.

Looks like a blast, though! Probably make it out there next month.
