No. If you have a commercial record (an invoice, statement or packing slip) of the acquisition, the ATF allows 7 days for the dealer to make the entry in his bound book. Other firearms must be recorded by the end of the following business day.

Paying for something and owning it are two very different things, believe me. People that can't own firearms pay for them all the time - and when that happens they generally need to have them shipped back.

Generally? What happens in other cases?

Sometimes the ineligible transferee will abandon the gun, or we will keep it and reimburse them for it. But mostly they just get sent back.

I say stop by the place and talk to them. One time my transfer was "lost" because a new employee did not record it correctly, but 5 minutes on site straightened it out :)
Did you just buy that beautiful firearm, or are you trying to sell that piece of crap?

I fail to see how reporting the actual circumstances to the police would be a crime.

No it would not be CRIME -and it is a Civil matter and cops don't generally deal with Civil matters, nor do they really care!

The reason is that they weren't done cleaning it after every employee of Fisherman's Corner got to shoot a couple of boxes of ammo through it!!!

Was an Sri Trojan 1911 .45 from Dawson precision in Texas. some guy in the store said it was a cute name. It took just as long as any transfer. Just filled out the 4473 , he made the call and I paid and left. 15 mins maybe.

I transferred a pistol to an out of state customer, two weeks later the customer called me saying the gun shop had not received it. They claimed they didn't have it until I produced proof of signature/delivery....then all of a sudden it showed up. I was close to calling LE on that one....

i think my co-worker was about to get ready to own that gun store by law-suit.

stupid, stupid gun store.
