New Gun from the Wife

Postby samginko on Thu Jul 11, 2013 6:19 pm

My wife used to volunteer for Heather Martens. But, after seven years of marriage, she is finally coming around.

She gave me a spinner zombie targets for Christmas, and today a lethal hand gun.

How does that even happen? Curious as to the history of your relationship, especially with the apparent degree of disconnect on a rather hot-button topic!

You must have some serious skills. I need to reevaluate some of my preconceive stereotypes about someone I haven't met! ;-)

She has mellowed out since we got married. When we first met, she only had one opinion about guns, that guns only exist to kill. Now she recognizes that people have different views and attitudes about guns. It does annoy her that most gun enthusiasts she meet are very nice people. Most liberals we meet (not all) tend to be self centered arrogant jerks. First time she went cowboy shooting with me DM Yankee offered to let me borrow one of his rifles, she thought this was extra ordinary, till Smokey made the same offer at another match.

She is still liberal and still anti gun, but I love her still. Probably more, because I know how hard it is for her to tolerate my passion.

That's a fantastic story, and wish there was more like that around here! I'm assuming you didn't use the strategy of calling her names like lib-tard in order to win her over then? ;-)

Speeking ignorantly have her shoot the different calibers and then have her work her way down to bigger to smaller to see what is comfortable for her my wife went through five guns before she found the one she likes I didn't mind though just more for the safe
