What is with CZ production?

Postby Jack's My dog on Wed Jul 24, 2013 2:00 pm

Short back story-Bought a new phantom in January. Gun crapped out in Feb (was falling to half cock on DA pull). Sent it in, no word for 2.5 months, contact them after some communication I "should" have a replacement Sp-01 Tactical in June. Got and email today that they "should have a replacement gun at the end of September.

It was cool that they agreed to upgrade the replacement gun (they said they were discontinuing the phantom) but a 7-8 month turn around seems excessive. I don't know what to do. Is this turn around normal? I have never had to return a gun. I would really like to have the SP-01, but I hear plenty of good things about the M&P 9. Would it be reasonable to ask for additional compensation for the wait, an extra mag or something? or am I just being a big baby and this is normal to have to wait this long? Keep in mind this is a production firearm and not a custom shop shadow, or DW.

If you ask for a refund can you kindly ask them to send that SP-01 back to me? I'm always looking for those.

I had been looking for any version sp-01 for a few months before I bought the phantom. You can find them on used on armlist and gunbroker for 2-3 hundred more than retail. That price is ridiculous but with CZ not keeping up with demand what can you say, but no thanks.

This sounds wrong - they should be taking care of existing customers before filling new orders!

Btw, Bud's has PCR and P-01 compacts in stock.
Did you just buy that beautiful firearm, or are you trying to sell that piece of crap?

My one and only experience with CZ customer service was horrid. I love their guns...but ...

Several CZ service and/or parts experiences and all where good. Have one that goes back to when Magnum Research was distributing them. About when CZ added the "B" to the 75 line for firing pin block.

I have had a day to cool down as it were after receiving the latest "end of September update". I really would like a CZ and I am considering contacting them to see if a 75B in matte-Stainless or a standard Sp-01 would be available sooner. I am mainly looking at the pistol to try my hand at an IPSC match or 2, I don't know if the additional rail and/or weight is necessary. If they were still making the discontinued combat 85 in duo-tone I would go for that one as well. I am learning a lesson in patience at the moment...the worst of which is my wife's argument "Why do you need another gun? Didn't you just buy one that you don't even have yet?" It sucks to have my "gun fund" money tied up in something I can't use.

As for the service given by the Individuals at CZ, I am pretty happy with that. They have been straight forward and honest about the situation the whole time. I view this as a production issue more than a customer service issue. This is what you get when you jump on the fan boy wagon.

Perhaps the USA isn't at the top of their sales list. CZ has always "marched" to their own drum beat. Sure do love my PCRs though...

It sounds like they are doing their best to help you. There must be a delay in getting the new weapon over here. Maybe Obama's delaying imports with Japanese inspections. Anyway you are getting a better weapon. Sucks to have to wait but patience will pay off with something more than you paid for. Glad to see your being patient. Some act like spoiled brats :baby: who want instant satisfaction and demand they money back and end up shooting themselves in the foot and lose out on a good deal.

WTF does that have to do with a Czech gun?
CZ either doesn't seem to want to sell guns, or is selling so many of them they can't keep up. Either way it sucks for us, because their stuff (at least what I've tried) is sweet.
