To be fair, economy of scale is a very real thing. Implementation can be a bitch of course.
To the two forum members who have used lines from my posts as their signatures, can't you quote Jesse Ventura or some other great Minnesotan instead of stealing mine? - LePetomane

Agreed for business with a profit motive. For politicians with a power motive? Just bait for sucker voters.

Yes he was pro carry and he himself got a permit and that's as far as it went, it was all about him. Is he an idiot, no...he does what's good for him and that is about it. He had the opportunity to really make profound changes but his ego got in the way.

To bad.

One thing I liked too about Jesse,,,,he spent so little money on his election compared to the other guys, and he wasn't beholden/in-debt to anyone else or their agenda like most politicians are when they get huge donations from lobbyists, special interest groups, rich people, etc. IIRC, he only spent 500k. Jesse also isn't a career politician, wasn't a lawyer, didn't have a Political Science degree, all bonuses in my opinion. It was refreshing to see someone outside of the one party system (Repub/Dem) win for once.

IIRC, his hand picked candidate went down in flames with 11% of the vote.

He coulda been a Huey Long type populist contender with better advisors than himself. His radio show persona was much more electable. If AL Franken can be a senator, so could a cantankerous wrestler. I suspect the idea of power was attractive, but the daily grind of political reality out of the spotlight went against his nature. A lot more fun throwing stones from outside.

He may not have spent a lot of money on his election, but he was beholden to Bigfoot and the Aliens who helped him get elected. Apparently Bigfoot likes trains.
