you should read about the Navys rail gun that they have mounted on a ship shoots 14500 feet per second basically the same thing but there having trouble with the barrel it can only be shot three times before the rifleing is stripped

A coil gun and a rail gun are two different things, and operate using different mechanisms. Neither has rifling.

she seems to keyhole a bit. I'm sure that will/is (be) remedied. Wouldn't want my pickup being the one to take that (guessing here) 50 lb slug though.
