Did I get a good deal?

I just picked up a Savage 111 .270 w/ a 3-9x40 scope for $179.99. To me this seemed like a deal I could not pass on since I was in the market for a whitetail gun. I have no idea what brand scope it is, I cant seem to find a single identifying mark on it.

The only thing that I can tell wrong about the rifle is a small chunk that is torn out of the soft butt material. Its maybe a quarter in size.

I'm going to take it out shooting in a day or two to do the ultimate test.

Sounds like a great deal. If you have an accutrigger - you just robbed somebody blind

how do i tell if it has an accutrigger?

It will have a small silver blade that protrudes from the face of the trigger that must be depressed with the trigger to release the firing pin.

Yeah mines just a plain old trigger. I'm used to a plain trigger and my wife has shot a gun only a few times. I think we will be just fine. It looked like a steal @ $179. We will take it out tomorrow and shoot some groups.

Yes you did. BUT, don't judge your enjoyment be others opinions. Sooner or later, "someone" always seems to have gotten or seen a better deal somewhere else, TALK is CHEAP.. Enjoy your rifle!
