That was not in the print edition home delivered unless I'm blind. Went through the A section about six times. If it was not for the comics page and sports columns I would have cancelled years ago.

My personal opinion is sports scores and comics are not a great reason to support a newspaper that is consistently printing articles that you don't agree with and whose Editorial team are clearly politically motivated in a direction that does not support objective journalism.

You must realize that by taking delivery of a hard copy, you are contributing $$$ to a progressive agenda. That's cool if you're into it. Just a little surprising.

Not a "great" reason, however there is no other local alternative that can also educate me on what the enemies in our midst are spewing to the low-information MN electorate. If you want to counter a lefties arguments you will be far better armed if you read their sources. Today is a good example of why on-line news sites are not sufficient. Without my paper I would not have known of the dereliction on this issue.

Rest assured I rely on 30-40 sites daily to find out the whole story of events. (Surprisingly, Brit news is often better on US stories.) Comparing what is skewed by the Strib or not even reported is helpful in trying to win hearts and minds of the ignorant middle who are still amenable to changing their minds.

YOU must realize that by paying MN taxes you are contributing much more $$$ to the progressive agenda.

You don't have to re-direct the focus. I pay taxes cuz I get in trouble if I don't. Hide as much money as I can. Back on topic, you WILLINGLY give $$$ to support a progressive agenda. Just own it dude.

We get the Sunday edition delivered.

For the comics, the coupons, but mostly so we've got something to to put around the litter box for when our arthritic 19-y.o. geriatricat can't get her joints to bend enough to keep the pee stream inside the box. Most appropriate use I can think of for that rag and the subscription WILL be cancelled as soon as the precious little beastly thing slips off this mortal coil.

Good grief! I spend a few bucks on a crappy product because there is no better alternative. It would be great if we had a Washington Times to compete with the Red Star, but we don't. If after all my points you want to call that supporting a progressive agenda so be it.

You don't pay state taxes to the leftie MN government thereby helping further the progressive agenda because you will go to jail if you don't. You support their agenda with your income, as do I, far more directly than with a newspaper subscription, for the same reason the rest of us red state types do: You don't want to move to a red state. The reason isn't important. But it is a choice to pay MN taxes.

We could play dueling hypocrisy all day long. What optional activities charge local, county, state taxes? Who eats or shops downtown? Go to state subsidized sports events? Ride light rail? You can call it enabling and supporting or you can live ypur life without sweating the small stuff. Prioritize. In my playbook that means giving money and time to support people and issues I agree with.

Now, I gotta go and cancel my Angie's List membership as she is a big leftie. My Caddie is old, pre-union owned company, but I do pay more for maintenance than a STRIB subscription , so I may need some guidance there. Damn, I just realized that 90% of movies income goes to the biggest progs in the country. Being pure is so complicated. Might actually be simpler just to move.

Personally, I dropped my subscription a long time ago. They kept calling for a long time trying to get me back as a subscriber, but I don't get those calls anymore. I've been without this birdcage liner now for close to 7 years, and will only look at it online occasionally to check out a story. They limit your reading online now too, it used to be 20 articles a month, now down to 5! I usually end up only using 3 or 4, cause in a month thats about all thats worth reading!

Any non-local news is stale by the time it gets to my door. Some stories I have read about for weeks on the web before they deign to notice them. Seeing how the Strib skews or omits stories is helpful to know though. Love when I can show the more blatent examples to my lib relatives.
