Lakeville Fleet Farm...

Went to FF in Lakeville today and they were busy resetting the shelving area where they have their reloading stuff. There were the empty jars of powder and underneath was a taped up sign reading:

«NOT displayed but in stock....» followed by a list of several powders including Bullseye. I asked for a container of it. They told me the sign lists what they DON'T have in stock. I said there were a lot of powders not listed, like Eunuch, so I asked for that. They looked at the sign again and agreed that it didn't make a lot of sense. They went to the back to look for Bullseye, asking on the way if it was pistol powder. I said yes, but you can identify it by the word "Bullseye" on the container.

PTL they had some, and I bought 1 pound, for the poultry sum of $16.39. Not bad. I think we need to send Sam out there to give them a primer, so to speak, on the basics of reloading.

You mean like Alcan-8 and W-W 1630?? Plus the ones that changed named, like Ramshot Big Boy turning into Ramshot Magnum.

I stopped by there again today to see how their setup of reloading stuff was going. They are still working, but there's a fair amount of shelf space to stuff. I am concerned that they *probably* aren't well versed enough to answer questions like John can, but we'll see, Maybe Big John can transfer there and help out.

While I was there they were opening cases of ammo and put 24 boxes of 22lr Win 555 rounds to a box, 36gr hollow pernt copper plated for $24.49/box. I bought the limit of 1. In the 15 minutes I browsed around almost all of them went. They had a lot of ammo in 9mm and other calibers as well. People were milling around like moths to a flame or kids on Christmas morning.

Stopped by there tonight. They changed their powder in/out of stock indication system - probably based on many confused customers :-) . Now if there is a price sticker next to the powder - it is in stock.

No sign of .22 though.
Did you just buy that beautiful firearm, or are you trying to sell that piece of crap?

Lakeville FF seldom has .22 (non-shot). I've picked up all of 1 100rd box in the past 6 months that's been on the shelf. Must still be a bunch of .22 grabbers around here. You can go across 35 and pick up .22 at GM, last week they had hundreds of 50rd CCI boxes for $4.99 (not that great of a price but it was in stock, unless it's all gone by now)...

And there-in lays your answer... FF in general seldom has .22 because it is still at a good price when they do have it and it flies off the shelves. GM has .22 much more frequently but at a much higher price. Interestingly enough I was in the new GM "tacti-cool" center in Rogers over the weekend and it was a sight to behold, they had so many American Eagle .223 battle packs, I could not even hazard a guess at the number. Of course they were priced at 59.99    Remember the days when these went on sale at FF for $29.99 regularly? Hint, it was less than a year ago...
