They got tired of being used as a pawn in the political debate. Open carry and two-dollar bills. I don't blame 'em

It's private property. They can do whatever they wish.

The thing is, what they WANT to do is sell coffee and mediocre pastries, not be the part of a nationwide gun rights debate that so many gun rights supporters unilaterally assigned them.. The gun community mistook their apathy for support and abused them. Now, Starbucks is a victory for the gun control crowd.

... all things considered it's a reasonable expression of their rights as private property owners.

The more basic question is... who drinks Starbuck's coffee with so many better options out there? I honestly don't know how they can make a basic cup of coffee taste like someone's cat used the filter & grounds as a litter box... and sell millions of cups of the stuff a day... but they do. I don't patronize Starbucks because their product sucks, I don't really have an issue with their politics as stated as it's well within their rights.

You raise a god point.
Maybe it's due to my age, but even if Starbuck's was the best in the land, I would be hesitant to put up with the overly-hip, and what I consider condescending staff.
I really don't need the "oh, good choice" affirmation from someone who could be my granddaughter when I ask for a large( not grandday-schmanday/ vento-scmento) coffee.

For my tastes, when it's a fresh brew, Holiday stations serve my pedestrian tastes well.

Them's fightin' words. Bucks over Bou over Dunn (unless we're talking iced where Dunn excels).

As one person commented on a Huff-Po piece, "I'll continue to carry my weapon at Starbucks, if they don't want it open, I'll just conceal it and everyone's happy." ;)

They wouldn't have had any less guns inside, just wouldn't see em. Harder on the thugs that way too!

I buy my coffee at a small corner deli for $1 a cup, add a Grandma's Bakery pastry for $1.50 (which I usually skip). The coffee itself is organic/small batch roasted and always fresh since it tends to sell vigorously... there's literally a Dunn Brothers 50 feet from their front door (a Starbucks is about half a block) and I haven't purchased coffee there in 2 years.

I stand by my point though, Starbucks has, by far, the worst basic drip coffee of any chain shop I've tried..

.. it's also awesome getting stuck behind 20 people who are all special-unique snowflakes wanting a "coffee experience customized to their discerning tastes and personality" in the form of a Triple, Venti, Half Sweet, Non-Fat, Caramel Macchiato... or a Grande, Iced, Sugar-Free, Vanilla Latte With Soy Milk. I just want a good cup of black coffee at a reasonable price (if it's quality, I'll pay more) without the BS.... Starbucks sells mediocre coffee at a high price with lots of "experience and ambience" which usually involves farting around in line. No thanks. :)

This is a classic example of some gun owners/activists playing checkers rather than chess.

Showing at Starbucks with an AR-15 isn't going to win you any friends. Holding an open carry event specifically to agonize opponents isn't going to help you win the PR battle.

Coffee sucks anyway. Switch to tea, the new official drink of the NRA I believe.

And when I say tea, I mean tea, the kind you brew not some koolaid mix that they have behind the counter at these "coffee" shops.
