Sig SB15, AR pistol brace

Postby Uffdaphil on Fri Sep 06, 2013 8:47 pm

Got the SB15 today. I feared it would be floppy foam rubber, but it is actually very stiff. It is designed to be strapped to the forearm of an amputee so they can shoot an AR pistol one handed. I wouldn't want to do that, but with only one arm I expect it would be a lot stronger than mine. So good on ya Sig for bringing this to market. I think this will be great for my HD 11.5" and range fun. Maybe not so hot for combat drill, but good enough that I won't be paying $200 and waiting 8 months for the "privilege" of making the first-to-confiscate list. Improved balance over plain pistol tube and IMO looks better.

We don NOT use the S word talking about this device. It is a brace with a functional comfy cheek weld. Not intended to provide shoulder support. Sig provided a copy of the ATF approval, so I will bring along in case I run into self-important range gestapo.
